A: What "comments" are not . . .

YannisComments are not for Meta discussions Meta is were we should be discussing whether a question (and its core topic) is on or off topic, whether it would be more suitable for another site, etc. I saw a couple of Meta discussions going on in comments, and that's not really a good thing: Comments ...

^^^ We need to start enforcing this. Big time. I see far too many comments arguing that a particular question is either on or off topic.

would be funny if this SO question gets hot: stackoverflow.com/questions/21808943/… - 7 answers, like it often happens at Workplace, only too little upvotes in comparison...

Q: How to informally motivate employees to spend more time working and less time on personal matters?

RajBargeThe company I work for has no written policy against using company time for personal communications and entertainment (Facebook, Skype, Youtube, etc.). It is expected that everyone balances their use in a professional way in order to do their work. One or two specific employees I manage spend a ...

I protected this question as it hit the hot list and was starting to gather lots of answers, some of which were beginning to repeat information, or lack information
If anyone disagrees feel free to voice your opinions! Things like this will work best if we have a community agreement

Q: What other stream subject(s) should a Computer Science undergraduate study?

TarunI'm doing graduation in Computer Science and have to choose inter-disciplinary subjects. I can either choose 3+3 combination (where 3 are from the same subject and the other 3 are from the different one) or all 6 from the same subject. (The terms subject may be a bit ambiguous here, sorry for th...

I looked through the post and comments and don't see the user requesting deletion. Am I missing something?
Second question, is there any way the op could actually edit this to comply with the guidelines, or is it really a lost cause?
Thank you!

@jmort253 check the revision history. The OP did ask about deletion

@CMW Will do, thanks!
BTW if any of you Stack Exchange addicts are having trouble getting the CSS to load on SE 2.0 sites like Workplace, you can run this snippet from your JavaScript console to apply Stack Overflow's CSS:
$('head').append('<link rel="stylesheet" href="http://cdn.sstatic.net/stackoverflow/all.css?v=7bbb71ecd5eb" />');

I do have trouble loading certain assets because of SSL
I've got a plugin called https anywhere that tries to set HTTPS wherever possible, which works for SE.com but not for its assets

@CMW Right now, there's a DDOS attack, so some stuff just isn't working. SE 2.0 sites appear completely unskinned for me.
We have partially mitigated a DDoS attack against our network. We are continuing to watch traffic.

oh, I'm not talking about right now. That's a longer-standing problem. I solved it by just disabling the plugin for SE. It's an SSL certificate issue really
I must still have all the assets cached, so no problems with that here

9:27 PM
I prob disabled my cache since I do a lot of web development....

9:39 PM
@jmort253 just unskinned? all se sites bar this one are unloadable for me

@RhysW Interesting.... PMSE doens't load for me.

@jmort253 physics, gaming, math, none of those for me

SO, SU load fine. WP loads but I have to apply the CSS from the console.

can't even get to astronomy to see if any moderation needs doing
@jmort253 same here, seems its just a few of them then

@RhysW I'm kinda having fun with this. I found this Chrome extension that lets you enter a url and then tell it what to redirect to.
Well, except it says Stack Overflow instead of Workplace SE.

9:50 PM
haha workplace isnt loading fine for you anyway?
@jmort253 that script is kinda cool though, might be using that later

@RhysW The content all loads, just not the CSS, so with the Switcheroo extension I just redirected it to use SO's CSS.

oh, that's odd. Wonder when we will get our nice fancy layout stuff!

6 to 8 weeks, most likely.

Looking forward to it, though your mod load will increase when we graduate!

@RhysW I'm sure it will...

9:57 PM
will help to have as much cleared down beforehand then
might go back through my own comments, tidy up, see where advice wasn't taken, ect

We'll have 47 users who can VTC.
14 who will be able to vote to delete

not too bad then, but not ideal, especially if they are all in the same time zone

76 users who can edit any post.

wonder how many fewer that will be compared to now

I'm just counting from the /users page.
There are 36 users per page, so you'd want to count how many pages of folks w/500+ rep, then count the page where the cutoff is between 500+ and 500-, then subtract however many people carry diamonds, which I think would only be about 4, then that's how many we have now.
It's likely in the hundreds.
