@jmac Thank you for inviting me to chat about extending the holiday

@leadgy Totally forgot about the rep requirements! Sorry about that. Basically, I think that you should check your contract to see what it says about taking sick days.
@leadgy What I recommend doing is seeing what the contract says about it first, because really that is what will determine how the company regards you asking for additional time off. Since you just started, taking 'sick days' off probably isn't the best tactic, but depending on your contract it may be the only way to do it. However, if you do it, you should make sure it isn't grounds for dismissal or other penalties based on your agreement.
@leadgy I would post this as an answer to your question, but 'legal questions' are off-topic, and because so much depends on your contract you shouldn't rely on anonymous internet advice. Since this is chat, it's okay, but in the actual question it wouldn't be so acceptable. I do apologize for the late reply, I got called away for a bit!

@jmac thank you, your answer is very good and helped a lot to avoid doing a mistake in the first days of the job. I agree it is best to just go tomorrow at work

@Joe I'm not sick at all, it was just a cover reason for obtaining 2 days for resting so I can think clear at the tasks at work because it's a new project and a clear mind would make a big difference — Ekodev 2 hours ago

Q: Should I call in sick if I am fatigued?

EkodevI recently started a new job and at the interview they agreed to give me 1 week paid vacation and half a holiday. I worked one week there, took the holiday and tomorrow I should come back to work there. But during the holiday I was unable to rest properly, I didn't sleep well and in the first we...

I do not get why that should be close
it is no more subjective than 98% of our other questions

4:02 PM
agreed
it's also a great question imo

4:17 PM
@Shiester Unless the hummer was purchased as a company vehicle I do not see why there is any problem. Your boss gets a pay check and does what he wants with it.

Heads up we might be getting a migrated question from Prog SE : programmers.stackexchange.com/questions/211884/… Answers would be very close to the ones here, though, workplace.stackexchange.com/questions/5906/…
(so, pitch in, edit, vote, whatever, as needed)

I so want to just post "+1 and commenting because I want credit for giving you the up vote." a few times...

Bang on the money! No guns for me

i managed to injure myself with a spoon the other day

@RhysW In america we cant admit that or they would take our guns away :p

haha, i'm clumsy enough to injure myself with a watermelon, anything involving combustibles and high speed projectiles is best to keep away from me

code generators... FTW!

4:50 PM
@Chad yeah, well, it's here now so have at it. :) workplace.stackexchange.com/questions/14503/…

@jcmeloni I could copy paste my answer verbatim between those questions

5:16 PM
The answer may be the similar but the question is different

5:46 PM
So guys, get this, when the boss turns that big urban assault vehicle of his on I've rigged it to spray foaming soap from all the air vents. That'll be sure to clean up his act!

Honestly? I don't think thats a good way to further your career....

6:13 PM

Q: Is it appropriate for Interviewers to ask candidates for their Stack Exchange user name?

kmoteWould you consider it appropriate if you were asked for your Stack Exchange username in a SW job interview (or as a pre-interview screening question)? To me, it seems like a very reasonable request, and one that would be extremely informative -- I'm sure I could learn more about a candidate in 5 ...
