I went ahead and dismissed the flag for now. I can't remember where, but I've read some advice for SO that having the same answers doesn't necessarily make a duplicate. Considering that the nature of this question is that the asker has already applied, I'd say it is distinctly different.

I just closed it, but that's a good point. Dup answers don't make it a dup for sure. Plus, someone else may want to add something that directly applies to this scenario, so I reopened it.
If a large number of people disagree with this action, then I'd be okay with merging any answers with the other post.

Sounds good

Q: How to handle renegotiating my next contract?

leadgyIn short, they offer you a contract for a fixed reasonable period, you ask for 7% more on salary, they negotiate it into something that you didn’t initially expect, which binds your freedom of movement and choice. You want to have flexibility and freedom, and if you back down now they’ll think th...

I edited this one to clean it up, but it seems like it's borderline. I could see this one going either way.

@jmort253 Ugh my impression is to close it as not a real question. My first though was that it was way too long, but then I read it and still, there is no actual question.
Right now it's basically "Here is my life, what do I do?"
So I would say it's an outright close - and we can ask the OP to form a real question, since in its current state I can't even guess what that is or could be.

A: Is it okay to work on personal projects in my spare time at work?

pkhamre I've talked to a friend who used to work a similar position and he says that's normal. What's normal for one company might differ a lot from what's normal at others, you should start by asking your boss and / or colleagues about what's considered okay for your workplace.

Q: Is it okay to work on personal projects in my spare time at work?

RonAbout two months ago, I started work as a full time server administrator for a small company. I have almost nothing to do. I generally work 1-2 hours a day. There have only been two days where I worked 6-12 hours in a day. I've talked to a friend who used to work a similar position and he says th...

Q: Should you salary reflect how much work there is for you or does that not matter?

Kevin SimperI am working in a consulting company, where the company mostly do IT support. The website is also only focused on IT support, and we do not therefore capture leads for the Web Department. We aim for Small busniess, which needs new computers and firewalls. We were having a performance conversatio...

@NickC @jmort253 @enderland I'm thinking of migrating this here, objections?

I'm neither of those people, but I don't object...

@jcmeloni Heh, I only pinged those who were recently in chat, in typical TL fashion. In any case, I already migrated it, it seemed ok to me and I figured you could easily reject it if you didn't like it.
