@BESW Bleh, that is annoying sometimes. The BBC only seems to have one "person possessed by alien/ghost/etc." voice, as well.
The main thing detracting from the believability of Ghostwatch (at least for me) was the fact that the people possessed by the spirit sounded just like people possessed by aliens in DW!
@BESW The Daleks, Cybermen, and Judoon sound different enough to me. (Can't remember the Zygons' voices, and I'm not even sure what the Nestene Consciousness is.)
If anyone asks me what Zygons are, I put on my best Tennant impersonation and say, "Big red rubbery thing covered in suckers - surprisingly good kisser."

The Consciousness itself is actually just thought; whatever form it takes is non-representative of its true nature.
(In the EU, the Consciousness is another of the beings who survived the collapse of the previous universe, like the Great Intelligence and the Great Vampires.)
