hi
fossfreedom
ok - moved into new room - getting busy!
yayu
yeah
fossfreedom
any errors when you install b43-cutter this time?
yayu
no
fossfreedom
when you do a sudo lshw -class network does it still say "disabled"
yayu

I dont understand the output. Looks like a bunch of configurations. ( ...|grep disabled) doesnt say anything either
fossfreedom
*-network DISABLED
description: Wireless interface
physical id: 2
logical name: wlan0
serial: 00:1d:4f:fa:a7:52
capabilities: ethernet physical wireless
configuration: broadcast=yes driver=b43 driverversion=3.0.0-12-generic
this bit - does it still say this?
yayu
no...
just *-network and then description, id, version, etc...
fossfreedom
what is the words after *-network...
yayu
HEY!
Could you please post any answer...
it worked
(although it does not show anything on the list of additional drivers)
that's why I was confused
but when I clicked the wifi icon
fossfreedom
you've got internet?
yayu
15:04
it was recognizing networks and it connected
YES!! :)
fossfreedom
just to confirm - fire up firefox - go to google!
yayu
yes
visited askubuntu
could you please post an answer, so I could award the bounty and correct answer...
fossfreedom
we have lift off! excellent. If you dont mind - I'll summarise what we discussed in an answer. thanks.
yayu
no problem. The most relevant bit was to get the oneiric version of b43-fwcutter, and to ignore step4 (i.e for some reason the driver may not be listed)
thanks a lot for all the help
fossfreedom
you are welcome - you'll see as answer in the next 5 minutes.
