09:12
As nice as those cables look like, I with they were a bit more interactive.
09:25
Minecraft is already slow as all hell, why make it worse? =p
OOH OOH I JUST THOUGHT OF THE BEST SKYBLOCK BASE
There's a skyhook in immersive engineering, colombia from bioshock infinity would be so good
with actual rail mechanics and grapple points?
09:46
neat though I'd think you'd want a safetypool at void level to catch you if you miss or lag out
@ratchetfreak jetpack :)
the sky hook is lower tech level it looks like
unless they changed that
a little, but the jetpack really isn't that bad. You need a compressor, that's about it
The most annoying thing to get is a stack of coal, and 4 pieces of leather
DH.
DH.
10:44
One problem to advance in the jetpack levels is the Uranium required, which means sieving sand(blerg, gives only common resources, no redstone/emerald/diamond) and the Thermal Centrifuge
@DH. the leadstone one doesn't, it requires a coal chunk
afaik that hasn't changed it's recipe
DH.
DH.
@Jochem Oh yeah I meant advancing to the hardned one
oh, derp, didn't see that, sorry
DH.
DH.
It requires that dynamo that uses a Uranium 238
11:01
Magma thing?
@KevinvanderVelden reactant dynamo
DH.
DH.
No, it's the Reactant I believe
Dayum ninja'd today again
Even because, the Magma Dynamo is disabled in IE:S
wow, the EnderIO editions are a lot easier to get to
tier 2 is just electrical steel, tier 3 requires 1 enderpearl's worth of vibrant alloy
DH.
DH.
Which machine you mean?
Oh the jetpacks?
yeah, the jetpacks have enderio alternatives
hm, tier 3 requires the thermal centrifuge as well :/
DH.
DH.
11:11
Now that you said about the Electrical Steel that I remembered: how we are supposed to get Silicon? Because pulverizing Sand gives Dust right?
@DH. the sagmill produces silicon
sand turns into 50% silicon in the sag mill
DH.
DH.
@Jochem Yay a use for all that flint!
exactly :D
DH.
DH.
Flint is the new cobblestone on skyblock maps, really
@Jochem aah right
I kinda want to play a skyblock centered around minechem someday
11:28
I've never really played with minechem, I hope it makes it over to 1.9
DH.
DH.
Minechem is a bit overwhelming... specially if you have RFTools and/or Mystcraft installed lol

3 hours later…
DH.
DH.
14:36
So I'll finally be able to make pulverizers and stuff but...
How can I auto craft the broken ores? All that I can find is a mess of Cyclic Assemblers
There's a hammer made of a diamond and two crafting tables that crafts them when you right click.
And also some form of packager that works.
@Jochem Was told me some options yesterday, but I've already forgotten the names.
Also I'm not sure how you'd make sure to only ever feed 4 at a time into the packager, but I'm sure there's a way.
it's the auto compressor, and it has an input inventory that's 12 slots big, so you can just feed it all the dusts and it'll compress them as it gets to 4, if you split them out by gravel/sand/dust
14:54
autopackager
@ratchetfreak that one seems to be missing from this pack, I usually use the auto packager as well

1 hour later…
DH.
DH.
16:24
@Jochem Nice, will take a look when I get home
I really want to start automating resource production with the water wheels
16:56
@KevinvanderVelden have you tried the skyhook?
It doesn't really work as well as it should sadly
Which make sense because minecraft
DH.
DH.
Play a pack with Glenn's Gases and Minechem
Then make a world with Mystcraft
Watch the world burn, literally
@DH. Yeah that's what I dislike about those 2 mods
They take over way too much
It'd be awesome to have like actual drilling rigs to find gasses in the ground and then use them for shit (like use them as liquids but place them as their custom gas physics in the world) and do things like using sulfur gasses floating at the top of the nether to make things explode
But I don't like having all the gasses everywhere
DH.
DH.
The problem with Glenn's Gases is that the world gen gets fucked up, like combustible gases in a pool of lava, really?
Not to mention the lag
@DH. Yeah it just literally places gasses everywhere seemingly randomly
I don't think it even uses the procedural worldgen
DH.
DH.
I think it uses the ore gen to spread the gases
17:05
@DH. and then overrides every block in a random radius?
DH.
DH.
@Ieuan Yup, based on the "vein size" it will spread the surrounding blocks and the inside become gas
Problem is, caves and lava pools doesn't count for ore gen
@DH. yeah but in vanilla those are done after ores so air overrides ore
Some mods do that properly too but others do things like spawning ores in air part of caves
DH.
DH.
@Ieuan Exacly, that's why lava can reach the gases surrounding the air
Oh wait what I just said doesn't matter
Those gases have physics
DH.
DH.
Yup, the gases normally spread horizontally and up aswell
17:09
@DH. do they all float up?
DH.
DH.
@Ieuan Only the CO2 from breaking Coal doesn't fly up, they barely spreads and stay still for a long while

2 hours later…
18:53
@Jochem Which pack are you guys playing now?
@Coronus the catchily named Feed The Beast Infinity Evolved: Expert Mode Skyblock
Just rolls off the tongue. :)
19:13
It's also not full expert mode because there's things like you can smelt anything in a slab furnace
Which wasn't possible in infinity expert mode
You can't cook potatoes
Hmm.. Minecraft or Black Desert
DH.
DH.
Hack'n Slash MMO over Minecraft? Really? I was expecting better from you @Ieuan
@DH. It's not just any MMO though, it's actually a lot of fun
DH.
DH.
19:31
@Ieuan Well, I'm not against MMO, just kidding. I used to play a lot of WoW back in the day I had time to actually play it, was really fun the PvP and PvE

2 hours later…
21:36
DH.
DH.
22:09
Er... don't you think it would be better making a Water Wheel since you got THAT much resources?
Oh wait
IE:S 1.1.0 is out
@Ieuan @KevinvanderVelden the server still at 1.0.4 right?
Yes
@DH. it's @Ieuan, don't question his insanity
@DH. don't have a metal former yet
Also inefficiency is kinda what I aim for
DH.
DH.
lol
Each generator is probably generating only 4RF/t because there's a small loss on using connectors/wires that aren't fully used
@DH. it's fine, keeping my autosieve and both my auto compressors running
@KevinvanderVelden Because it's not going to answer?
22:20
@Coronus Oh no, it'll answer
That's the problem
strawpoll.me/7318383 @KevinvanderVelden @Jochem @DH. @Unionhawk
@anyone else playing
What does regen do? HP regen?
doesn't that require potions of regeneration / health to recover health?
DH.
DH.
Yeah, I think so
It's kinda bad for me really, I take fall damage all the time
yeah, same here
22:26
@Jochem yes
I'm a bit more ambivalent towards graves, but I kinda really don't want to turn off HP regen
That's why I propose it
Mobs aren't really an issue
Graves make dying completely free apart from some XP
But the only way to die right now is lava or falling
but that punishes building stuff around your base
Removing HP regens makes it so falling less than instadeath also has consequence
@Jochem it punishes jumping off stuff
you already have to be pretty careful not to walk off your platform, and that also destroys your items
DH.
DH.
22:29
Yeah I fell once and lost my only bucket and forge hammer
Doesn't void kill spawn a grave at lowest possible point?
DH.
DH.
not that I'm aware of
until you have a jetpack, that's effectively lost
once you have a jetpack, you're going to care less anyway
DH.
DH.
Once you have a jetpack you won't get killed by void
also true
22:31
@DH. you won't easily take fall damage anymore either
haha, have you used one of these jetpacks? :D
I'd really vote for disabling hp regen and keeping graves sooner than the other way around
@Jochem Yeah, when you jump down you just enable hover mode and you're safe
DH.
DH.
@Ieuan I take fall damage all the time with jetpacks without a Dark Steel Boots or a Glider
I don't really see the point of disabling graves, most of the time you won't lose your items anyway
and disabling regen just punishes people who don't produce soul sand automatically... which I would tomorrow if we turned off regen
