Are there some small "PC in a box", somewhere in the middle of a Raspberry Pi & a full PC, like a laptop without a screen, keyboard or mouse? Something small enough to carry around like a laptop with easy-to-upgrade hardware like SSDs & RAM.

@ChocolateOverflow NUC?
Those are essentially those
(NUC is "intel"'s original spec, but AMD systems in the same form factor exist)

8:05 AM
there's also industrial router boxen that are about the same size but heaviler cause they have heavy aluminium/heatsink cases

they seem like an interesting choice but looks like a general full-size work station would be better

Well there's flex atx, mini itx....
There's these AliExpress boxen that pair a laptop CPU with a small midrange GPU. Nvidia 1660 or 1050ti

I'm looking at the [framework laptop](frame.work/) and having an HDMI slot is $10 more expensive than USB A/C. I can find some cheap HDMI to USB adapters for <$5. Is there much of a point investing in the HDMI slot if I only sometimes use it for presentations?

@ChocolateOverflow all the slots on the framework are USB-C thunderbolt 4
in theory you could pop a USB C to whatever cable straght to a USB C port

Would it be better to just not have a USB C slot and just plug in directly to thunderbolt? I guess not using the card would just be an issue with really big plugs
My laptop is still working fine so it'll probably have changed quite a bit by the time I get to buying the framework but I like thinking about it
