Gamigon or nothing

I wonder if I apply just to be sure no troll get a place, just seen first candidate, lol

@GraceNote 99% chance this person is trolling: http://serverfault.com/election/5#post-716427

Is there any rules on how a nominee is to present themselves during the nomination phase? The current banter going back and forth in the comments is useless and serves no purpose in the election process. My opinion of course.
@ShawnMelton I think so, too. I am curious why the low numbers of applications
@EduardFlorinescu nomination period began 1 hour ago
ok, lets hope it gets better
Trump wants to build a firewall, he is clearly trolling :)) and the commentators too, they are making fun of the 2016 election Rep run

"No one will cross over from SuperUser unless they come over the legal way."

"A giant fancy door. And the only way through the wall will be that door. You can come in, but you'll have to come in legally."

"Is this a site for the 1% of Network Admins? I get the feeling you may not be representing the needs of the people"

"Mexico would pay for my wall."

"I'm not like the other admins. I don't need money. "

It's pretty funny.

What the ***? There are 3 (in words: three) moderator positions available?! Have I missed a major incident killing most of our mods?
@the-wabbit Nope, no major incident. Several mods just left due to not having enough time to continue.
"several"? I wish the SE staff would have another look at the idea of announcing moderator step-downs.
@MichaelHampton you still have your diamond at least. But then again, you are young and unjaded as a mod.
22:45
@the-wabbit This year we have had HopelessN00b, Tom O'Connor, and Chris S leave. And another moderator is having a change of circumstances I can't talk about publicly yet.
@the-wabbit As for me being young and un-jaded, oh how little you know.. :)
@MichaelHampton you were elected 2 years ago. It seems like just yesterday to me. Although I have a hard time remembering who got which of my votes. But then again, I hardly ever remember what I have done at work all day, so everything seems straight so far.
@the-wabbit That's fair. I haven't been around SF for nearly as long as some people.
I have read once that "there is no glory in doing administration and operations". I always suspected so and with my offline life sucking up most of my time I never considered a nomination myself. And even if I do not always agree with moderation decisions I would like to thank you and the rest of the mod team (including the ones who have stepped down or were stepped down) for the dedication and the time spent on this site.

@the-wabbit I think that was written in a tribute to Jon Postel....

A: Why did the IETF specifically choose 192.168/16 to be a private IP address class?

Michael HamptonI know who chose these address ranges. Unfortunately, he is dead, so I cannot ask him exactly why he chose them, but I can make some well informed guesses. There isn't much online dating prior to the mid-1990s, when the Internet really started to take off. What history of the Internet exists is ...

It was. And you quoted it somewhere.
Ah, yes, probably there.

@the-wabbit It's true, there's no glory in this. If someone is coming to be a moderator for that reason, they're probably going to fail. It won't get you sex, either.
And probably not even opportunities for getting bribes. What a shame. I remember calling it a "public office" once. How mistaken I have been.
@the-wabbit It's mostly cleaning up messes so most people don't have to see them.
Well keep up and remember to leave some messes for the people to see - they need it to feel at ease :) I'm going to call it a day, have a good night.

Hold the phone. Being active on serverfault doesn't get you laid?
Dangit.
