@MikeNakis one of those "I wonder if SE will ever do anything about it" - there's the programmers blog site. The problem is that with the wordpress structure (IIRC) it is awkward for people to maintain it with the proper authorization and access. Writing blog posts about the 'not quite right for Q&A' topics that come up might be quite interesting.
