Out of curiosity why would an account (on SO) that's been posting "wow gold" spam and as far as I can see nothing else be kept around, unsuspended? Is it a case of "better the devil you know?"

Usually pure-spam accounts just get destroyed immediately

@MichaelMrozek yes, they got auto-deleted by the community so I manual flagged the most recent two and said something about deleting account or suspending. The first flag was dismissed helpful before the question the second flag was on got posted. Both got marked as helpful, but nothing seemed to happen. I read as "we're onto it, but doing something else with this one", but I'm somewhat curious about now.
