@MarkTrapp Join the "not a mod on Programmers anymore" club. We don't have business cards or t-shirts, but we got a nice 12-step program and are slowly recovering sanity.

Q: Does a public key absolutely need to be used to initiate an encrypted session?

Bob BryanI am a software developer working on an application with the .NET platform. This application needs to provide a secure connection and encrypt all data between the client and the server. It is a standaone app that does not use a web browser and will be using a symmetrical key for the vast majori...

@Ninefingers It does feel quite 'implementation'-y so it could well be a fit for us. From his points, 1 could be Cr or Sec, 2 and 3 are Sec, 4 - not really useful
@RoryAlsop Ok left a comment suggesting perhaps he might want to break the problem up into separate questions.

Just a heads up to everyone wondering about Stack Mobile - the reason it keeps going down is because of an API throttle violation. Unfortunately this is not a bug with Stack Mobile but a shortcoming of the API library Stack Mobile uses - Stack.PHP.

@BenBrocka It's not that bad... plus I'm going to also fix some performance and organizational issues with the library as well.

Neat, the front pages updates in pseudo-realtime (get a "new questions posted click to refresh") indicator
@MarkTrapp Yeah, that crept into meta about a week ago. I find the title modification annoying (hint hint rchern shog), but I like the feature.
It's websockets too :)

I just want that for flags and suggested edits. Who cares about the front page.
(Maybe I'm just cynical, but I rarely look at the front page now.)

It obseletes my Live Home Page UserScript :(
@jrg Good point, the inbox has live updates and the questions so that should have it as well.
I've got an events feed at the left side (on Super User, didn't make it support multiple sites) showing questions / answers / edit / comments / new users, pretty nice...
