@trichoplax yeah probably.
oh bummer, WebGL can't draw objects with more than 65k indices. :-(

Can you reuse any of them? I'm not familiar with WebGL

Well, reuse is exactly the point of indices.
I wonder why they limit indices and not vertices.

maybe you use the wrong type
unsigned short can only go up to 65k while unsigned int can go to 4 gig

@ratchetfreak Yeah that's the problem. WebGL does only allow unsigned byte and unsigned short, but unsigned int is not allowed.

Q: Is there a limit of vertices in WebGL?

zVictorThree.js says that can't be loaded more than 65k vertices. In my pure webgl application, it doesn't say anything, but it doesn't show the entire object when I try big objects. I am figuring out in split my objects to put in smaller buffers, but it would make me sad. Is there any better solution?...

Q: How to use 32 bit Integers for Element Indices in WebGL 1.0?

5chdnWebGL 1.0 specification does not allow to create 32-bit index buffers. Now I'm in trouble, I'm trying to render huge objects with 100 thousends to 1 million indices. In OpenGL this is no issue at all, and I think it will be no issue in WebGL too, in most cases. I am not able to split my data int...

you should be able to split the chunks though

Q: OpenGL Vertex - Texture Mapping

phagioI have a mesh loaded by an obj file (wavefront), complete with normals and texture coordinates per face, and its relative texture available. In my C++ / OpenGL code (assignment for a computer graphics class) I bind correctly the texture, but fail at correctly mapping texture coordinates with face...

Q: Computer Generated Cracked Soil

Helka HombaWrite a program that takes in an integer from 0 to 65535 (216-1) and generates a unique 500×500 pixel image that looks as similar as possible to these 6 real life images of cracked soil: These are thumbnails, click them to see the full-size 500×500 images. The goal here is to make your co...

Q: How to check available API's?

ThatFinnishGuyI'm building an engine, which has Vulkan for its primary rendering engine. But to have at least some backwards compatibility with devices that don't get drivers for (Mainly mobile) it I want to implement an OpenGL fallback. Now, how do I check what API's are available in the current system? I wa...
