hello everyone!
I was wondering if someone can help me find posts by any user on the Unix/Linux site about hard drive failure around Sept, Oct, Nov, Dec of 2021? How do you write the queries in the search box of the main site, and in SEDE database of stack exchange? Thanks.

@Tim I used "created:2021-09..2021-12 hard drive failure" in the search box, and got 3 results: unix.stackexchange.com/…; you could adjust the search terms (using quotes to put a phrase together, or different search terms), but that should get you in the ballpark

@Tim I took Jeff's query, changed "hard drive" to "hdd", and added "nixos" (the OS you seem to be using nowadays). There was a single hit: unix.stackexchange.com/questions/673898/…

thank you @JeffSchaller and @Kusalananda !

you're welcome! I wasn't familiar with the date range searching in the SE help so I pulled up unix.stackexchange.com/help/searching and went from there. If you still need a SEDE query, I can look through what I have and cobble something together. Most of my queries are focused on "past 7 days" or "past month" sort of ranges, instead of specific dates, but it's gotta be possible.
