Studying up on networking. It hasn't been my strong point but I think that will change.
W. Richard Stevens is excellent; too bad the second edition is so much worse.
So I'm reading the first edition and checking online to know which protocols are obsolete and which are still vital.
And, I'm partway through The Linux Programming Interface at the same time, which is a hefty read but is clarifying all sorts of gaps in my knowledge. Great stuff.
I'm very much lacking anyone around to chat with about either book, though, so I thought I'd speak up here. :)

@FaheemMitha it's been a while since I used jq, but I believe it may be interpreting your JSON as a jq script? I usually use jq . file.json if all I want is to verify the file can be parsed. That prettifies the output, too. Pipe to less if it's a big file.

Hi @Wildcard. How's it going? Haven't seen you in a while.
Hoping you're coping with the virus situation. AFAIR you're in North America.

@FaheemMitha going well. Doing study, as I mentioned. Yes, I'm in North America; lockdowns are pretty crazy here. Nobody much is actually sick (fewer people than a typical flu season for instance) but churches are all closed, schools are all closed, movie theaters closed, etc. Bizarro world.

The more I learn about computers, the more I become aware of that I don't know.
Fractal knowledge.
