@MichaelHomer This one looks detailed.
The New Yorker is still relatively good at writing articles. Though their subjects have become increasingly low-brow over the years.

I'm impressed how much money some of these people make. And that's a ton of money of "legal services".
> Tax returns filed by nonprofit organizations are public records.
I did not know that.

@derobert I was wondering if you could tell me what kind of data usage the Amazon Fire Stick has - say, when streaming Amazon Video or Netflix. And is it possible to regulate the usage? I've read reviews on Amazon suggesting it is not. But if so, that seems like a misfeature. At least on the browser, Amazon Video can be run at different speeds/resolutions.

@FaheemMitha I think Netflix has a setting for it on their website. Not sure about Amazon.
I can tell you my Roku has used 24 GB since whenever I last reset the counter.... but I haven't been streaming much recently. And I have all of those things set to maximum quality/unlimited data
help.netflix.com/en/node/87 ... if you haven't already seen that
And... if you have no other way to force lower bandwidth, you could always use ratelimiting somewhere, like on a router.

I'm working on a script meant to verify a GPG signature, then extract the signed object. The command works in terminal, but fails in the script. Any tips on debugging this?

@derobert I mean the Amazon Fire Stick device itself. The Amazon Video site definitely has an option for less/more data. But I've read reviews suggesting that the Amazon Stick doesn't have any such option.
I had the impression you have the Amazon Fire Stick. Is that incorrect?

The relevant parameter is Video Quality: Good (0.38 GB/hr)/Better (1.40 GB/hr)/Best (6.84 GB/hr). Though the last seems kind of ridiculous.
To be clear, this shows up on the Amazon Video page when playing a video inside the browser.

And I see Netflix has something similar, though I am not currently using it here.
