Q: Tool to remove all non-package files on a system

l0b0If you want to keep for example a build or server system clean, it is very useful to be able to check that all files are present and accounted for by the package metadata. Q: Will I be able to build LFS using dash and mawk?

Erik BI decided that I want to learn more about Linux and try building LFS. I'm using Ubuntu 11.04 as host system and Ubuntu uses dash and mawk by default. I've changed mawk to gawk, but considering that mawk is much faster than gawk I'm thinking that I might want to use mawk anyway. Since making bash...

@TheDevil Possibly? I'm sure there's more on the site itself, so you could try asking there

@TheDevil : serverfault possibly? depending what you are trying to do.

@TheDevil depending on what you're doing: this site, or Server Fault (e.g. if it's about deploying on multiple machines), or Stack Overflow (if it's about PHP programming and only incidentally about Apache), or Webmasters

Q: What's a convenient way of checking what's being added to a log file in realtime?

Kit SundeRight now I'm essentially executing tail /var/log/syslog manually every once in a while. Is there something that lets me see what's being added continuously, or do I need to write something myself?

Q: How to have autocomplete ignore a specific completion

ChrisI've got auto-completion working for bash. When I type part of a program name, and then TAB, I get the full command. Works like expected, no complaints.
