@beeshyams Yupp. But we don't necessarily need a "cover-it-all" Q. That might even get a bit complex/confusing/chaotic. Let's better focus on a group of connected tags.
I also hope to complete the current one (power*) before moving on to the next – which is why I've asked @DanHulme if he'd agree to follow our approach for now and postpone splitting-off the power synonym.
I just read back the [power] meta post, and I really encourage you to post a new meta question regarding [button]. The comments on Dan's answer are way too off-topic now. If I were a mod, I'd clean-up the comments there...
I think it already reaches the consensus to burn the tag. I'm still not convince about the synonym though, it's too ambiguous to be synonymized: "charging power" (or "charging rate"), "power on" (process), "power button" (physical button), "battery power" (or "battery-life")
So as you're all here right now (@DanHulme @beeshyams @AndrewT.), shall we for now proceed as suggested in the highest voted answer (including synonymizing power to power-on) for now, and care for where-shall-power-point-to in a second run?
I think once we add the synonym we're committing to doing a lot more retagging work later if we want to change it. I'd rather remove the tag now and not add the synonym until we decide what we want to do.
That makes two. I agree in so far as typing "pow" already would bring up the "power-on" tag, and users tend to push the first thing coming up anyway. And second, if the power tag should reappear, we can take care for it then. So we're agreed on that? @beeshyams?
@izzy:I was logged in but out on a walk with my avatar hence the delay . That's fine by me
@AndrewT. May I request you, time permitting, to resume the editing / clean up for reasons a) you do a far better job b)editing constraints on my part c) I don't want to be seen as protecting my tag
