Hey all my Nexus5 is giving me some problems and hoping someone here might be able to give a little advice. It just turns off at random on me when its not plugged in. Especially if looking at photos or taking photos/video. Sometimes when I turn it back on it goes to Optimizing Apps and also the battery sometimes is at a different level then when it turned off. I've already tried clearing cache, and even a full reformat. Someone offered me an iPhone6 but I really like Kitkat.

You think it might just be the battery that I could go to a phone shop and have replaced for $50? Would rather not spend $50 only to have it still be broken

@Ryan Is it restarting or turning off? I had an issue with my Nexus 5 where it would restart. It was a hardware issue with the power button (a fairly common issue) and was replaced under warranty by Google

Turning off. Mine's out of Warranty so they told me I'd have to go to LG if I want any help and LG said I'd have to send it in, pay the repair costs and it would take about a week. I'm going on a trip soon and need a working phone before that

I don't think its the Power Button Issue though. I've read about that and it usually involves an On/Off Loops, no?

yeah, mine was different to that... I would assume replacing the battery would fix it but not $50 sure...

well just called phone repair guy, he said its $35 so that's not as bad lol

And I really hate iPhone so guess I'll give it a shot and hope
