@DanHulme LOL Let's see if I find one more understandable line...
Btw, the last edit removed some useful info (not sure why it was approved; probably because it was done by the OP himself)
@DanHulme better now? Still not suitable for a re-open (as basic details are still missing), but at least readable I'd say ;)
yeah, the question wasn't what I couldn't understand
it was the comment he added
@DanHulme Ah. Welcome to the club then (see my comment)
"a shot of adb update", yeah. "I shot the sheriff / but I didn't shot no ADB..."
I liked t0mm13b's comment
short and to the point

@DanHulme Yupp. Which is why I upvoted it. But I guess the OP might feel discouraged his Q has been closed, and thus think "it's a goner". Hence my comment that this is revertible on certain conditions, to give him back some motivation.

any of you guys has any idea what's going on here? askubuntu.com/q/424653/169736

@Braiam some filtering on the hotspot side, maybe? OTOH, a similar behaviour can happen when the date/time settings on the device are too far off. In that case, SSL handshakes might fail (invalid certificate, as that's seen as "not yet" or "no longer" valid). But from the description, I see no indicator that only SSL connections are affected.
@Izzy so there are too many reasons and could not even be related to ubuntu, noted
gah, I was hoping there was an easy way to get Google Play's large version of an app's icon
but it looks like I'll have to scrape its web page to do so
@Braiam Might, or not, yes. I've just left a comment there.
@DanHulme repent of looking for the easy way...
