Yuck. Just accompanied my wife to an outlet store today. Though it a good chance to test the new SE app. That was five hours ago.
Nice blue background. Logo looks OK, so do the login buttons. But though trying for several hours, I seem stuck in level 1 (ya know, that with this funny spinning circle)
Full bars (signal), heck I've just downloaded the app on it, and that went quick. So it shouldn't be the network.
Did I miss any cheat-code to enter "level 2" (ya know, that one with the questions and answers shown)?

Ah! Got it. Force-Close the app, and retry on WiFi #D

2 hours later…

In case anybody else taps into that, I just got this from another user:
> the android app has a long litany of unresolved issues relating to connectivity. If you have solid Wi-Fi it's all right but mobile data (esp if you often bswitch speeds or roam in sketchy service areas) is almost a no go at this point.
You guys no anything about this?

Q: Can't boot Galaxy S I9000 into recovery mode to install Ubuntu

Skyler SandlinI believe my volume up button is not working on my galaxy s i9000, and I'm trying to get it into recovery mode. Right now the phone is bricked, so I can still get it into download mode. So at the moment I have CWM on it, though that seems pretty useless if I can't get the phone into recovery ...

I'm not sure it is a good migration candidate, but at least you might have an answer for the guy.
19:37
@Seth Not a good migration candidate IMHO ("installing Ubuntu"). That's rather falling into the OT category "Android independend (device) questions".
checking
@Seth the "installing Ubuntu" part aside: a little re-phrasing would make it a good candidate again. "How to unbrick my Android device" is on-topic.
Shall I edit it, so you could migrate it?
Hmm. Let me ask some other users about that.
@Izzy I take it you don't have a question that would cover it already?
@Seth Specific to the device? I remember we've got some unbrick questions, yes. Let me check, to make sure...
thanks :)
@Izzy Alright, go ahead if you don't have a dupe. There is a mod around who can migrate it.
@Seth Yuck you're right, even an almost perfect match: Galaxy S GT-I9000: how to fix boot to recovery with Volume up+Power?
I'll take a closer look (comparing details), and maybe add a comment on that Q at AU. Would that be welcomed?
Uh-oh... Looks like the same devices ships in 5.000 variants, each with its own key-combo for recovery...
@Izzy ok. Do you think you would dupe it or would the answer be different?
19:49
@Seth Still checking, as there are even more. No "exact dupes" as it looks.
Alright, go ahead and edit it then :)
Hmm. Are you sure that is the same question? It looks a bit different to me.
I'm not an expert though, so whatever you say :)
Ah, I see your comment.
@Seth Just updated. The "boot-loop" might a bit confusing here :)
Thanks for the help @Izzy :D
19:54
I guess the list will have at least one match solving the issue. If not, and you wish to migrate, just edit the "to install Ubuntu" out of the title before migrating.
@Seth Anytime!
20:23
@Seth looking forward to see your diamond soon :) 2 more days to go, if I remember correctly...
@Izzy The election ends Tuesday, so if I win I'll have a diamond then :)
20:41
@Seth You have to, you've got my vote for #1 :)
