@Hosch250 I didn't run because : - lack of time (I want to spend the time I have on CR to answer question) - language barrier (I am not english native) - I think we have enough better candidates running than me
@SimonAndréForsberg Basically I have wanted to keep the mods we had/have but unfortunately rolfl had steped out. Seeing you, MatsMug, Janos running had been enough for me. Setting aside I have a family which doesn't see me a lot, working long, my not the best english..... had been enough resons for me to not run for election. Maybe for the next election some things of that change and I will run.
I won't quit CR, because that is the place I want to be. I had been over at msdn forums for quite some time until they changed the look and feel there without hearing the users. So until nothing drastically changes here, I will be on board.
@Hosch250 My answers aren't picking up much traction for some reason. It's a good thing the post score has very little to do with the election outcome.
@200_success Alright, I dropped the ball on this a bit. I didn't bring it up in comments because it was initially brought up here in this chat. I should've transferred the discussion over to comments, and I failed at that. Sorry.
Originally I proposed merging the earlier question into your question, which I found in my notes when compiling the full list. But then I noticed that RubberDuck's question covered the other half.
I danced between merging the verbiage between the two, but ultimately concluded that using a binding vote is, at least by public opinion, bypassing the 5-vote structure. And decided that the broader direction of covering all binding decisions was more useful. And that I didn't want candidates basically repeating their answers if I had kept all 3.
If you think there's a certain part of that portion from your original question that is not being addressed by the current responses of the candidates, please let me know and I can revise the verbiage and probably poke all the candidates. Alternatively, the candidates could be poked directly in their responses - comment them and ask them to update the answer to that question to reflect your concerns.
I asked the specific question because Code Review lives or dies based on closing inappropriate questions. Most of the candidates did address moderator closure in their answers, so the situation isn't all that bad.
I think the big picture has been great... the issues we have had have been relatively minor from a technical perspective. The candidates have all answered the questions comprehensively, and in good time. There is more than enough information for people to assess the candidates, and so on.
I don't think changing the question now will make any real difference to the impressions that have already been made.
Well, that meta.se question with the ranting mod-abuse-hurling user, was actually all about a qustion of how to name variables.... and, here I am, talking about changing my username...
