Uh oh, my answers are still ahead of Jamal's.

4:42 AM
@Hosch250 I didn't run because :
- lack of time (I want to spend the time I have on CR to answer question)
- language barrier (I am not english native)
- I think we have enough better candidates running than me

@Heslacher I've never noticed an issue with your language. I suspect imposter syndrome here.

I completely understand the top one, though.

Yeah right, and now I have to look up imposter. Done.

@Heslacher Almost everyone says "I think we have enough better candidates running than me", I think that's a bad reason for not running.

@SimonAndréForsberg Basically I have wanted to keep the mods we had/have but unfortunately rolfl had steped out. Seeing you, MatsMug, Janos running had been enough for me. Setting aside I have a family which doesn't see me a lot, working long, my not the best english..... had been enough resons for me to not run for election. Maybe for the next election some things of that change and I will run.
I won't quit CR, because that is the place I want to be. I had been over at msdn forums for quite some time until they changed the look and feel there without hearing the users. So until nothing drastically changes here, I will be on board.

@Heslacher the family reason is definitely a good reason for not running.

Yeah, I still have a life outside of CR ;-)

I think both @Mat'sMug, @janos and I also at some point thought "There are other candidates that would do the job better than me"

@Heslacher there is also another mod spot, there would still be a race for the 4th moderator position

@Hosch250 My answers aren't picking up much traction for some reason. It's a good thing the post score has very little to do with the election outcome.

@Heslacher you know the look & feel of CR is scheduled to have a major, uh, refactoring at some point later this year.. right?

isn't it?
6-8 weeks is this year, right?

6:47 PM
if anyone cares, I changed my answer to the first question on my questionnaire.

you can do that?

7:24 PM
@Mat'sMug I did.

@200_success Alright, I dropped the ball on this a bit. I didn't bring it up in comments because it was initially brought up here in this chat. I should've transferred the discussion over to comments, and I failed at that. Sorry.
Originally I proposed merging the earlier question into your question, which I found in my notes when compiling the full list. But then I noticed that RubberDuck's question covered the other half.
I danced between merging the verbiage between the two, but ultimately concluded that using a binding vote is, at least by public opinion, bypassing the 5-vote structure. And decided that the broader direction of covering all binding decisions was more useful. And that I didn't want candidates basically repeating their answers if I had kept all 3.
If you think there's a certain part of that portion from your original question that is not being addressed by the current responses of the candidates, please let me know and I can revise the verbiage and probably poke all the candidates. Alternatively, the candidates could be poked directly in their responses - comment them and ask them to update the answer to that question to reflect your concerns.

7:45 PM
I asked the specific question because Code Review lives or dies based on closing inappropriate questions. Most of the candidates did address moderator closure in their answers, so the situation isn't all that bad.

Mmm

I think the big picture has been great... the issues we have had have been relatively minor from a technical perspective. The candidates have all answered the questions comprehensively, and in good time. There is more than enough information for people to assess the candidates, and so on.
I don't think changing the question now will make any real difference to the impressions that have already been made.

8:00 PM
now all we need is a scandal....

I am sure I can help with that, somehow? How about ..... Monkey is actually a Giraffe?

that would be fun...

I think I will change my name and icon after the diamond goes....... hmmmmm

thoughts on what you are going to change them too?

@rolfl wut!?

8:03 PM
Please don't become a shark.

Hi, @Santiago.

hiya

My favourite animal is actually a cheetah.... my wife's is the Giraffe.
I have really nice pictures of each.... so the avatar is not a problem.

Leaving temporarily, BBL.

hey @santiago - fun on that naming question, and then come in to a naming discussion here?
@200_success Crap,. I am slow, took me too long to get that one.

8:07 PM
I'm a Pisces and I was born in the year of the monkey.
So, the stars tell me that this is the perfect moderator team.

adding to that answer earned me a down vote on my questionnaire
lol

@rolfl naming discussion?

Well, that meta.se question with the ranting mod-abuse-hurling user, was actually all about a qustion of how to name variables.... and, here I am, talking about changing my username...
You commented prolifically on that thread.
(in support of us mods, thank you ;-)

@rolfl ah yes, that was an interesting discussion - and you're welcome!

3 hours later…
11:17 PM
12 messages moved from Standards & Conventions

...
We can't talk about what we want in Standards & Conventions?
Why not?

in The 2nd Monitor, 4 mins ago, by Simon André Forsberg
@Jamal is it really necessary to move messages from another room to the election room?
3
I also find the moving of those messages very unnecessary.

Which is why you already had my election upvote
By the way...
Oh wrong room for this

Okay, I'm sorry. Carry on.

@nhgrif I thank you for that one.

11:23 PM
Simon, are you looking for a job in the United States?

@nhgrif s/in the United States//, yes.

You know where to find me if you want to talk.

I'm looking for a job, I'm open to many places.
