There are lots of great candidates.

There are good reasons for me to run though too. I'm already a very active user, been part of growing a tag community from two users to almost daily questions from many, I care about the tags and good edits... I'd be good at it I think. And, obviously, at least some others think I would be too. Or I wouldn't be here explaining myself.

We currently have three moderators. One with lightning fast reflexes, one always available in chat with a load of experience and a quiet one doing very much hard work in the background (generalized, a lot).

Comment flags are real fluff... I regularly decline things that are flagged "wrong", and delete things anyway ;0 Like, why flag something as "not constructive" when it is "obsolete".

I do that with post flags too... most commonly with mod-attention flags like: "I have included the code in the question now, please reopen." ....

"not constructive" is the one that I most often decline. The others are more fuzzy.

Not constructuve has a sentiment behind it that is "this user is being an ass".

No kidding.,.... I am in limbo... I don't know how to respond to some things.... I have to stay away from saying good things, or bad things about anyone, etc.

Also, I am very aware that any mess I make now will have to be cleaned by others... I've got to be careful ;-)

Q: How do election primaries work?

As of right now, there are 11 moderator candidates. If there are more than 10, a primary is held, but what is a primary? How does it work? Is it basically the same as the election itself, but instead of selecting our 4 moderators, we select X number of candidates to move on? How many candidates g...

@Pops - as an FYI, the election-phase sidebar says: Each community member has 3 votes. Please cast your votes in order of preference, starting with the most desirable candidate first. .... which is sort of Exactly wrong ... members have exactly 1 vote, and it is transferable, which is why it is called STV - single-transferable-vote.... That wording needs some attention.

Well, sort of, but the STV for most SE folk is complicated enough, and misinformation like that is not helpful
