Q: Useful Words or Phrases for expressing certainty with some level of doubt in scientific papers

Michael SohnenIn many of my engineering classes, and hopefully in professional endeavors, I will need to write Academic and/or scientific papers. I am looking for a collection of good phrases and sentence structures to use when I want to express that something is almost certain but not quite. Additionally, wha...

Hi, I have written an article on Quantum Cryptography and I'm wondering if I can get it published. The article itself doesn't present any new findings but is a summary of research that has been done in the field. I am new to this and I'm wondering where would be the right place to publish this kind of article, since it is not a research paper.
This is a link to the article: academia.edu/32908788/…

@hb20007 Why do you want to publish it - what are you hoping to achieve by doing so?

@ff524 I think that it could be interesting to someone with a CS background who wants to learn something about Quantum Cryptography. As for my personal motivation, I think it would be an interesting experience to have something I wrote published.

@hb20007 If you plan to submit a paper to a journal, don't put it on the web unless you're sure the journal is fine with that.

@hb20007 To make it generally available to people who might be interested in it, you could just put it on arxiv or other preprint repository. To publish it in a journal would be quite a bit more complicated. It sounds like what you have written is a "review" or "survey" article, and these are not so easy to place:

Q: Do you have to be invited to write a review?

afreen sahiriI am interested in writing a review on a topic that I am very interested in and am very well informed about. I would like to ask how does one go about doing this? I was told that you have to be invited by a journal to write a review or else you give a talk at a conference and they ask you to wr...

@ff524 The answer you linked does not give a positive outlook on publishing this kind of article in journals. I will read more about arxiv and try to upload it there as you suggested instead. Thanks a lot of the help

I am currently in the process of searching for an endorser for the article. If anybody here can endorse for cs.CR and is willing to take a look at my paper please let me know

you are looking for someone to endorse you to upload your article to arXiv?

@CaptainBohemian Yes, I am searching for someone who can endorse for the category cs.CR. I am looking at the authors of relevant papers and I also decided to post here in case it happens someone here can endorse it

It's like as long as you have an academic email to register an account in arXiv, you don't need an endorser.

@CaptainBohemian I will try to change the email I used to my academic email then

3:12 PM
@CaptainBohemian It still asks for endorsement. I read a post about another person who changed their email to their academic email and it worked. So I assume that my academic institution is not well-known enough for this.

@hb20007 I have ever heard of that situation, but I don't know how reputable one's institute needs to be for them to be waived an endorser. I don't know if strangers would be glad to spend time to read your article to endorse it. I think it's easier to ask your advisor or colleague who trusts you and has ever uploaded articles to arXiv to endorse you.

@CaptainBohemian Thanks for the advice
