"Your question is better suited to English Language Learners" or "Your question is better suited for English Language Learners"? The latter is the correct one right?
I suppose I should use "better suited to" if the phrase is followed by a verb.

@MartinSleziak I would use 'for' after better suited in every context I can think of
but yes, 'to' would be better when a verb follows. I might say "better suited for handling that" instead of "better suited to handle that" but it's just my preference
Grr this chat interface sucks balls

Why can't I edit or delete my own damn messages?

@ColleenV After two(?) minutes you need to be a moderator to do that, I guess to prevent people from pulling out the rug from the people they're talking to
Ah, you had a line break in the URL, which broke the link format
@Laurel Yes, I know. I ran out of time. It's a bad user experience and a pointless restriction.
The restriction is there because the implementation is half-assed and they don't want to spend resources to do it properly or farm it out.
But I'm having a bad day, so I'm being a bit dramatic about everything;)
Agreed. (I may flaunt my ability to edit 7 minute old chat messages in this server, but I'm just a regular user making stupid typos in SO chat for example.) Though the one thing that can be said is that if they don't touch chat, it can't really get worse than it is

@MartinSleziak My preference though would be "You may want to ask your question on English Language Learners, which is a site specifically for people learning English as a foreign language." I feel that's a little more friendly than suitable there/not suitable here.
If you're unsure if they are a learner or whether they want it to be noted that they aren't a native English speaker, you could suggest ELL because the community will give less academic answers/more pragmatic answers.
If they want to know the difference between ELU and ELL, this is a good discussion: ell.meta.stackexchange.com/questions/769/…
Actually, I asked in connection with this: Comment template for questions more appropriate for MSE - I have just used English Language Learners as an example.
> MathOverflow is a question and answer site for professional mathematicians. I think your question would be better suited for Mathematics on the Stack Exchange network. Before posting there, make sure that you follow the norms of the site. You might have a look at help and advice on How to ask a good question?.
Sorry, I should probably have directly quoted this from the beginning.
No worries, this is chat where anything goes. We can't close your comments for not having enough detail lol
I still think it would be better to say "I think you will get a better answer on this other site" so it is less like you are rejecting their question and more like you are trying to help them.
