Is this question on-topic here? It doesn't seem to be about the English language at all, but about the relationship between two pieces of literature.
I flagged it for migration to Literature (being sure that it'd be on-topic there and not-active-enough-to-be-sure that it's off-topic here), but the mod handling my flag said they didn't close/migrate just because "At least one answer seems sufficient enough". But the answers don't affect the on-topicness or otherwise of the question, surely?

@Randal'Thor Ah well done!
I concur, seems more like a literature Q than a Q about learning ENG

@Randal'Thor I'd say it is a borderline case. I retagged it "literature" because I wanted to keep the migration option open. And I expected it'd motivate some interest over at Lit and it did indeed which I am very happy about. But it was also I who responded to your flag, suggesting since there had been at least one good answer maybe migration was not needed
@Randal'Thor There have been a lot of cases, especially of late, where I felt the question should be migrated (to Lit, Language Learning, or some other sites) but people have provided good enough answers which I took to be a sign of the community accepting those questions

@EddieKal Thank you, I am hoping to get an answer from people. Ever since I have started the bounty, I haven’t received a single answer.

I personally would have migrated those questions to sites where they would be considered "more on topic", so to speak, including the one at issue, but we have the vote-to-close, migration cycle in place. So if you feel that this question is off-topic on ELL, as a member of the ELL community, please vote to close, or, given that you can't vote to close yet here, initiate a dicussion on meta ELL
@AydenFerguson I will probably dive into CGEL and see if I can find something more authoritative if I have time later this week
@verbose Since we have you here, not to beat a dead horse (language and culture are never dead horse topics to me), but we had a little discussion the other day about Bangla/Bengali in this room. We have some native speakers of that language(s) here. Just in case you are interested, here is a pointer Feel free to chime in any time

@EddieKal May I ask what CEGL is?

@AydenFerguson A misspelling of CGEL en.wikipedia.org/wiki/…

@EddieKal Thank you for showing concern :-). Is that book (CGEL) for advanced level English speakers/learners?

@AydenFerguson It's widely considered one of the most authoritative English grammar books
I don't think it is for learners at all.
Rather, it is for grammarians and linguists, or anyone else who is interested in a thorough understanding of English grammar

I would want to buy one. I am currently at an Advanced level. Should I be buying this?
@EddieKal

@AydenFerguson See if you can use that link

Q: Grammar books for native speaker?

StephenSAs a well-read native speaker, I know what “sounds right”, but I often don’t know the formal terminology or rules to explain why to a learner. Are there any grammar books or other resources that can help me write better answers here without being either too basic for a native speaker or too acade...

7:12 PM
@EddieKal I would personally like to ask you that why you think it’s not for learners. Is the language of the book complex, or something which learners wouldn’t understand?

7:23 PM
@AydenFerguson As I said in my answer under that meta post, CGEL is organized and written in a very unique way. It disagrees with most other grammar books
because it strives to achieve consistency. Consistency is a really difficult thing for a grammar to boast, and to that end CGEL uses a somewhat unique set of terminology
It is considered a book of "modern grammar" and you will encounter terminology and ideas that contradict commonly accepted grammar

Okay, gotcha!
Thank you so much for giving the link for the book.
