A woman from my house fell ill with COVID. Her husband said she has once lost her consciousness. He is also coughing. They called an ambulance but due to overload it will arrive "within 24 hours". From the neighboring entrance, a family of 5 was transported to the hospital today, with COVID.
Do you call it entrance, the section of a multi-storey apartment block accessible via a single entrance?
Or do you say "from the neighboring section"?
You can't see the border between the sections, there's only a huge apartment block with several entrances. Each entrance has a stairwell that leads to numerous apartments, top to bottom.
There are no corridor connections between multiple vertical sections. So you have to go down in an elevator, enter the street, then move along the house, enter another entrance, and take a ride in another elevator to visit a friend in the same house.
@CowperKettle I'm so sorry to hear that :( I think "entrance" gets your point across, I might have used "section" but I've never really lived in areas with large apartment buldings like that.
