@AIQ I use that word sometimes. Some people say kerfluffle accidentally instead. I think the kerfluffle version sounds cute.

@snailcar I've been passively thinking about it. What if Trump's "cowfefe" was actually "kerfuffle"?
It sounds so plausible, but I haven't seen anyone propose it

@snailcar I came across this word in a post-game interview (basketball). There was a scuffle/brawl in a game, and after that game, a reporter asked the players what led to that kerfuffle. Even the players (native speakers) were amazed at the use of that word...

Oh yeah, it’s not that uncommon, but even native speakers are still acquiring the vocabulary of their languages over time, day by day, year by year, throughout their lives. We all learn things in our own ways and in a different order from other people, even though we tend to naturally think everyone else learns things at roughly the same time.
