@CowperKettle I agree it is a bad definition. It’s confusing and doesn’t accurately and unambiguously explain it.
I think of “raising the possibility” as bringing up the topic and seeing if we might be able to make it happen... now I need to find a better definition. Brb
It’s not a very common phrase and seems quite modern according to NGram
That raises the possibility that there isn’t a clear consensus on what it means and that we’re all just using the context to understand it.
