Occasionally someone will be trying to figure out an answer to a practice question, and will stumble across the Stack Exchange and think, “This is great! Surely I can get an answer here.”
Here are some do’s and don’t’s ...
Has some of the general stuff, and some of the specific stuff.
I think elaborating on how to be concise and what to look for before asking a question, especially, deserve a place on their own
The standard FAQ is exactly lacking in that regard: It tells you to do your own homework, but it never tells you good enough how, why or how much.
Could just edit J.R.'s answer but I also think a dedicated post for asking textbook problems would be pretty useful.
So, that could be post number one.
Number two would be sorting the guide a little bit. Make a list of contents either in the question (preferred, just some editing and headlining the current one) or another answer.
I have some parts of one written down actually. Long time ago, in one of my drafts in this PC.
Since it's a contributor guide, might as well dedicate a separate post for reviewing. I'm a bureaucrat.

The chattiquette could use some work, although that probably wouldn't be specific to ELL. "Don't be a jerk and don't demand answers. Be receptive and patient."
@Mithoron I'm on the tip of the needle right now, so in a month I'd be able to say whether or not I'll finally become more active again or continue my Skywalker exile.
The former possibility is really high though, that I can say.
In an ideal world, I'd muster up enough energy to reinitiate some editing efforts.

@M.A.R.ಠ_ಠ I think more question asking guidance is an excellent idea. We have some detailed posts on "Details, please" and on citing your source, but they might be a bit overwhelming for a newer user
@M.A.R.ಠ_ಠ It's supposed to be enjoyable. If it feels like work, then don't do it. I'd hate to see you got into full exile mode though. Maybe pull an Obi Wan where you are gone but not really ;)
