Ah, I see. That works then.
If in doubt, you can stick to just good morning/afternoon/evening, or hello and such.
But that is neutral – hey guys is friendlier/more informal.
Alright, I'm done for the night. I've read the Feynman thing snailboat mentioned. It's terrible, haha (I guess I'm just not partial to that writing style). But it was a fun read.

@userr2684291 What's your name user? I just know your from Croatia. Are you a student or something? Too many questions \o/ :)

@Cardinal Haha. To be honest I'm kinda reluctant to share personal information like that online. But I'll tell you that yes I am a student, and my first name would correspond to the English name Jacob.
09:44
You do sound like a Jacob.
I deliberately put it that way because there are only a handful of people with my name (judging from my experience and Facebook), and it sounds kinda odd in English when written the same way I'd write it in Croatian. The letter-to-sound mapping (no matter how loose in English and in general) is not the same as in my first language.
Juaecubbe
It's Arabic version is "یعقوب"
Naturally, so is its Persian version
Although, they, erm, Arabicize the European variants as "یاکوب", which sounds kinda funny
Yeah, I'm not sure how to properly transliterate names, and I think people should in general translate them, haha. In Croatian there's a name I'd write "Marko", but it's not pronounced the same in English. Is the English version the same name? In other words, is "Marko" the same thing as "Marko"?
09:58
That's so deep. I have no idea.
Just write "Marco" or "Mark", and that's it.
Exactly. Haha.
I wonder if there's a better way to handle these.
Without involving the IPA.
Meh.

@userr2684291 I would be interested if you figure one out. I knew a “Bane” for a long time before I realized his name had two syllables...
@snailboat What online games do you play?
If anyone is looking for a new game, a team has brought back City of Heroes. It’s in a bit of legal limbo while they try to work things out with NCSoft so they aren’t accepting any money. It’s such a good game if you enjoy creating characters and seeing other people’s creativity forums.homecomingservers.com

"what's it mean" -- a curious construction

@CowperKettle It's just a contracted does.
The 's, that is.
