No, I meant in that particular context in which you used it. In fact, there was a lack of context so I assumed that by irrelevant people you really meant "unrelated people".

So I assumed that you meant "unrelated", as in to you, or to one another in some way.

And that's not how irrelevant is normally used. It could mean in your example something akin to "unimportant", but I really wonder if that was the intended meaning.

Like, what does importance have to do with the kinds of things people do. I'm pretty sure some business people are more important than you and I are.

@userr2684291 I think whether a person is important is not an objective concept. A person can only be important to some people on earth. It's impossible that a person is important for everyone on earth. If I don't know a person at all and what (s)he does is not my concern nor is (s)he interested in my concerns nor does (s)he have interest in understanding my concerns, (s)he is just irrelevant person to me. But (s)he may be a relevant person to someobody on earth.

I wasn't an engineering student until I had completed a year and a half of classes, had a certain grade point average, and applied. I assume they allow "non-degree-seeking" students to take some engineering classes, but they don't count toward their graduation credits.

@userr2684291 but exchanging material can be practiced between any people, whether they are relevant to each other. A business person selling cakes can always sell me a cake though (s)he isn't concerned about my concern nor am I concerned about his/her concern. (S)he isn't even concerned whether I like to eat that cake or why I want to buy that cake.
