Is there a way to start a chat room based on a question and pull in the pertinent comments, or does that require a moderator? I'm working with someone on ell.stackexchange.com/questions/183765/…, and I'm not really sure if the discussion in comments is entirely pertinent to the question being asked. It's turning into a technical discussion.

@mathewb A moderator can do it directly. If you post enough comments you'll receive a prompt to continue the discussion in Chat. You can also create your own room, but I don't think you have the ability to import the question and comments yourself.

@mathewb You can flag one of the comments there and tell the moderator what you want in the flag reason thingy.

@mathewb There's no way for a user to do it easily, but it's pretty straight forward for a moderator. It might be better to flag the question the comments are under with a moderator flag explaining what you want. The comment flags are only marked "helpful" if we delete the comment, so it's easy to accidentally decline them.
