Q: Tenses in Relative Clauses

b.eastI know the SOT rule and how to apply it to object clauses, but I have some confusion about the appropriate tense in a relative clause. For example, in the sentences below, which interpretation is right? I will see the girl that is walking. Is walking now, or can it be either now or si...

> The suspension of PBMC cells was collected from the culture flasks into a sterile tube and centrifuged for 5 minutes at 200 g. (I wonder if one must use a space to separate the number from the g letter)

can some one explain me about this line in simple language (bad english speaker)
"A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools."
What do you think it means?
Hint: what does "foolproof" mean? @ɹɐqʞɐzoɹǝɟ
@ɹɐqʞɐzoɹǝɟ are you still there?
hi , can you please explain what you've understood, i didnt understood anything and confused
No problem...let's begin with what "foolproof" means.
It means that even a fool could not use it wrong.
Think of other words that end in "-proof" like waterproof, soundproof, etc.

yeah
" ingenuity of complete fools"
is he saying underestimating all fools ?
Yes, do not underestimate fools.
You may think that nobody, even a complete fool, can get this wrong. But fools will find a way.
does it mean he is not a fool !
Sort of.
He is a designer.
oh okay thank you :)
no problem, thanks for asking :)

hi ! what expression or grammar would we use to indicate the number of times we do sth until we get what we want?
some thing like : I did it so much that...
or : I do it as much to get what i want
@parvin Hi, your first choice is correct, but I'm not sure if it conveys what you want.
I think you should explain more what you're trying to say
Hello @ɹɐqʞɐzoɹǝɟ! Welcome to our chat!
@ɹɐqʞɐzoɹǝɟ if something is fool proof, fools can't break it. The author of that sentence says that fools will break things no matter how good you make them.
@M.A.R. yes the sentence "I did it so much that..." indicates to some thing negative, like you did it too much for getting what you want or you did it too much so that some thing bad has happened.
what I want is to say this in some other forms : " I flipped the coin a number of times , until I saw a head, then I stopped."
@parvin just "until" works then: "I flipped the coin until I got heads"

i see

guys is this correct?

Let X be the random variable denotes the number of white balls before taking out the first black ball.

shouldn't it use "denoting" instead of "denote" ?
@parvin you don't need to ask in both rooms. Just choose the one that's active if you want a quick answer

Good morning, fellow overflowers! :-)

I say, even though it's afternoon here.

@parvin Yes, it should be denoting.
Flowers?

I like to think it's pronounced like over- + flowers rather than overflow + -ers :-)

Or overflovians.
That makes me laugh.
