@Man_From_India Yes, busy of course will be listed in dictionaries like the OED with a non-reflexive use because they catalogue historical uses as well as modern. If the non-reflexive use of busy survives at all, it is extremely rare.

As for for as a marker of subordination and on as not, I think we'll want to start with constituent tests.

To-infinitival clauses with for-subjects seem to form a single constituent.
