@ColleenVpartedways Was it you who removed all my comments under Astralbee's answer? I was fine with you "cleaning it up". I am not fine with your removing the comments altogether nor am I fine with your removing your own comments here and my own. What kind of thing is this?? Well, I guess a dialogue is impossible.

Which one should I choose in "please specify in/on/at comments"?

comments refers to something similar to commenting system at Stack Exchange.

@Lambie Once the answer was corrected the comments are obsolete. There were multiple flags on them and there was no reason to preserve them.
I deleted the public chat here because I reread my comments and they seemed like I was scolding you, which was not my intent.

@ColleenVpartedways It was corrected because of what I said. But credit was not given to me by person answering for that. And I had to argue with her/him. And gobsmacked is not rude, it just means utterly amazed. People around here have a hard time supporting what are clearly correct answers and for some reason agree with incorrect ones or fuzzy ones. It really bothers me.

@Lambie I understand your frustration. I’ve found that it’s a lot easier to get someone to appreciate my corrections when I soften my tone. Hounding someone until they’re forced to bend knee and admit you were right rarely ends well. I have worked for years to overcome not being able to make people see things that are completely obvious to me without pissing them off, and I probably have years more work to do ;)
If you come at people with the attitude that it’s all very obvious and they’re quite stupid for not being able to understand it, you will never get anyone to admit you’re correct without a knockdown drag out fight.
Actually being perfectly correct is not as important as getting people to entertain the idea that you might be right and they might be wrong.
And that it’s OK if they’re wrong, because everyone makes mistakes or sometimes misunderstands something they’ve read.

@ColleenVpartedways My tone at first was merely factual. I do not think it is fair to say I have "an attitude". That is you reading the word gobsmacked, imo. I always admit my mistakes, always. But I expect others to do so, too. You will have noticed that the OP appreciated my answer. Also, there was unfair manipulation here which you did not catch. Or maybe you did. Anyway, it doesn't matter because the answer poster refuses to play ball. I cannot stand dishonest manipulation of answers.
And as far as I'm concerned the person was behaving dishonestly, trying to backtrack (changed her answer due to my comment) and even changing the entire sentence so an a would work. I can categorically say that I do not engage in this type of thing.

@Lambie If you want to see it that way, there’s nothing I can do about it. However, you may want to start noticing how often the people online perceive your tone differently than you do. I understand being matter-of-fact. That’s my preference as well. I’ve found it’s not an effective way to communicate with folks online. I’m trying to help you have a better experience here, not criticize you.
The end goal of leaving comments on an answer is to get the author to correct it. I don’t understand why you think that’s dishonest.
Once the correction is made there’s no reason to leave the argument there, especially when it’s causing flags
