While removing the "of" makes sense as "imagined of" is quite unnatural, doing so makes it hard to read the second thought as Harry's imagination.
What do you think? Even without the "of" the sentence is a bit off. No parallelism between the elements.

For some reason I'd expect to see ands instead of ofs there: Harry imagined coming here with Dumbledore, and what a bond it would've been, and how much it would've meant to him. I'm not too happy with that solution, however. I don't know. Maybe of works there.

That's Olli, I gave the book to her as a gift. The book is in English, with a parallel translation in Russian to make it easier to read, and it's adapted - the hard words are replaced with simpler ones.
