@M.A.R. I’m done with my little tantrum and back to ColleenV. The last time I felt that powerless and angry I was a child and had been unfairly sent to my room, so I took my scissors and cut the ruffles that I always disliked off of my bedspread. Apparently, I haven’t really grown up as much as I thought, lol

@ColleenV TBH that's what honest protest feels like; you doubt your reaction after the fact, not your intentions
@Araucaria They're just such a clean people.
@userr2684291 Hey who you calling cracked

Sorry to interrupt this amazing conversation. I have a question that I am hoping any of you can comment on. I am trying to say that to do X, three things need to be changed: A, B, and C. But these are very long sentences, and so I am putting them in separate ones. This is what I have: To do X, it is a must that B be done. C needs to be changed. And there should be a revised D. My question is, is that appropriate - splitting them?
And does the 2nd and 3rd sentence logically connect back to the introductory phrase "To do X". I am afraid this might be flagged as a proofreading or opinion-based question.

@AIQ It helps to manage your reader's expectations at the beginning. There are three things necessary to accomplish X. The first is A. The second is B. The third is C.
If I'm expecting three things, it's easier to understand what follows.
@M.A.R. Je je

@Araucaria That sounds like me trying to remember how to speak French.

I get as far as je or so before everything breaks down.
@snailboat Ah, that's Spanish for ha ha!
@snailboat Sorry, just realised what you were saying properly ..! Bit sleepy over here ...

Oh, yes, I was just attempting to be a little silly . . . :-)

It's been twenty-five years since I studied Spanish. I might have a good reason to dive back into it, though.
@snailboat Why's that?
Anonymous
A Spanish speaker is joining the family.
