A: Is it prohibited to lie down (and fall asleep) on a commercial flight?

user1341867It's not even on the seats that people lay down, but even on the floor besides the entrance close to the toilet on the midnight flights. Possibly everywhere with not much disturbance to the passengers... But you have to be careful while walking. But I have never tried to lay down on the seats pr...

@DamkerngT. I've seen it; a strange question.

I've never lain down on the floor in a flight myself!
nods

On the floor? No way. Probably if the flight is private.

I went down to sleep (not very happily) on the floor of a train once.
I was very young back then.

It was a crowded train?

11:05 AM
It was, and we bought only cheap tickets!

(0:
I loved to travel on a train in childhood. It took 3 days to get from Siberia to the Black Sea, and you saw a big, big stretch of the country en route.

Oh, Russian trains are quite charming!

And in order to reach Crimea, the train was put on a ship!

Hi guys

Wow!

11:07 AM
And you could walk out of the carriage and walk along the ship's deck.

Yes?

Hi, @Cardinal!

@CopperKettle The ship must be very, very big! (or very long)

Yeaah

Welcome to the room, @Cardinal!

11:08 AM
@DamkerngT. Yes, but passenger trains are usually much shorter than ... hm.. freight trains
So it fit onto the ship allright. (0: Onto the train ferry.

How many bogeys would such a train have?

I live around the Caspian sea. I've seen the Russian
and their sheeps !

Even nicer.

Yeahhhh
It is really better than babol

11:15 AM
"During the reign of Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi Noshahr was unofficially known as the second capital or the summer capital of Iran because it was where Shah and most high-level government officials lived and worked "

OH, How do you know that man ?
I am Impressed
:D

I copied it from Wikipedia. (0: But I've read about him a little, about his White Revolution and stuff
(0:

I needed to proofread a work on politics and had to read some information about Iranian history, but not much.

Where do you live ? I mean wich part of Russia ?

The Ural Mountains (the southern part of them, where they are really hills, not mountains)

Mother of contry !

(0:
Iran is quite big too!

But, Russia is very big ! :D
It is really cool !

But about 85% of its territory is empty. Too cold, too far. (0:
Too cool to live (0:
60% of territory is permafrost
In geology, permafrost or cryotic soil is soil at or below the freezing point of water 0 °C (32 °F) for two or more years. Most permafrost is located in high latitudes (in and around the Arctic and Antarctic regions), but alpine permafrost may exist at high altitudes in much lower latitudes. Ground ice is not always present, as may be in the case of nonporous bedrock, but it frequently occurs and it may be in amounts exceeding the potential hydraulic saturation of the ground material. Permafrost accounts for 0.022% of total water on earth and exists in 24% of exposed land in the Northern Hemisphere...

Russia is big, but its leader is strong, like bear!

11:28 AM
He is strong, but not in the brain, sadly.

Why copper ?

Never Trust Americans , Britains
This is my idea !

How should I know why? I'm not a psychiatrist. (0:

Or maybe too strong in the brain, but I'm not sure his biggest interest is with the common Russian people.
:D

11:30 AM
:D

Yes. (0:

Where are you from, Cardinal?
I'm guilty of being American.

IRAN
:D

Ah, Americans are not very smart with Iran.
I think I can understand you.

@Cardinal But he helped me answer your question, so you'd better trust him, although he is American.

11:30 AM
what do you mean smart ?
I mean politicians

Most Americans don't know anything about Iran. So we tend to have fear and a lot of misconceptions.

For all we know, he may be Barack Obama in disguise. (0:

:D
But we have suffered from your politicians
very much

Yes. Certainly.

We, does not mean Muslims
Means Persians

11:33 AM
Though do you feel that your leaders and politicians are honest and trustworthy?

America is an easy target to pin the blame upon for all kinds of local Czars.

Everything is relative. Good-hearted people can have very different perspectives.

yep

If we all just put our children together and give them love and support, I think they could find a better future than we have made for them.

nods

11:35 AM
Of course Jim

ha ha ha
I think we need a opinion-modler
:D

(0:
Putin and Trump with baseball bats, a couple of opinion moulders. (0:

Was nice chatting with you, Cardinal! I'll be back later. (0:
BBL all. (0:

@JimReynolds nope, I don't think they are frank. but, I prefer them to America's allies, namely, KSA, Turkey, Israel, Qatar, ... . All terrorisits are Arabs, but they blame us !
It is not acceptable for us
although we are a weak country

Well, there are all kinds of terrorists, I suppose. Terrorism is a tactic, not the characteristic of a particular group.
the unofficial or unauthorized use of violence and intimidation in the pursuit of political aims.
Terrorism can be widely seen as moral and justified, in some circumstances.
There are certainly American Christian terrorists.
I'm ashamed of America's "support" for Israel and I blame Israel (its government) for most of the problem: Their land-grab in the middle East and illegal occupation.

Q: Pronunciation of "negotiate"?

CardinalI was listening to a debate on the radio. There was a guest who was not a native English speaker. He was pronouncing the verb "negotiate" as "/nego'si'eit/". I supposed that he made a mistake but, when he used this pronunciation multiple times, I decided to search and came across with this thr...

I remember that an employee from HP always pronounced his specification as "spek-ci-fi-ca-son".

Hi!

Hi! (I'm not really here.)

Okay!
I just want to ask a simple question?
What is difference between details and detail?

I'd rather pass this one.

Sure. Thanks.

No need to thank me! I haven't helped you yet! :D

Q: Is there a noun/verb for the process of growing new leaves on a tree?

laughDeciduous trees shed their leaves (or defoliate) in the fall. What happens in the spring? I'm looking for words like bloom/blossom, but these refer to flowers, right? Are there similar verb/noun referring to leaves?

Frankly, I thought of "grafting" before clicking to read the question!
(Even though I didn't think grafting is really about leaves.)
