One of the answers suggest favoriting the rooms somebody wants to follow. Other than that I do not see other suggestions in the answer there, that could actually help.

In any case, the traffic in this room is rather low - I think that if somebody checks it once a month, they will be able to go through all relevant discussions (or find out that there weren't any). This is similar for many other sites - I definitely saw sites which have less traffic in the main chatroom than Sports.
