I hope you like these daily stats ^^
it shows all the repositories that are using @Duga
Too late, RubberDuck already has one, I believe.
00:33
I want to add my fork of Cactus to the webhook, but it's already really big -.-
@QPaysTaxes I know, but still
Alright, I'll do it, and apologise to Simon later :P
[The-Quill/Cactus] Ping: Responsive is better than fast.
[The-Quill/Cactus] The-Quill pushed commit fb878cd6 to master: simplified print choice function
@Duga I simplified print_choice() @EthanBierlein
00:54
@QPaysTaxes Yeah, that's true
I'll work on that
01:17
@QPaysTaxes It's only a ternary and join statement ;-;
It's sad isn't it ;_;
I could do '\n' + 'Choices: instead of \nChoices:
Maybe
It's a formatted string otherwise It'd just print an empty line
'' if self.choices == {} else '\n' + 'Choices: ' + ', '.join([key for key in self.choices.iteritems()])
It looks better slightly
02:01
@QPaysTaxes Don't worry about it, that's what we have replies for :P
Huh?
Last night actually, I had my sys volume up to max and my YouTube volume down low, and you pinged me and I nearly jumped out of my chair
So I swapped them
[newbiedoodle/CactusPrototype] newbiedoodle pushed commit 7a03f6e8 to master: Changed the death message
[newbiedoodle/CactusPrototype] newbiedoodle pushed commit a042f8d2 to master: Using case instead of post-ifs in on_command
[newbiedoodle/CactusPrototype] newbiedoodle pushed commit b4ee4855 to master: Fixing up the comments some more
How about '\n' + 'Choices: ' + ', '.join([k for k, v in self.choices.iteritems()]) if self.choices else ''
I re-arranged them
02:47
[ShearOfDoom/Cactus] ShearOfDoom pushed commit bee7814a to master: Renamed source folder, and finished main_game.py. A test file was added as well.
@QPaysTaxes Alrighty, the first alpha release of Cactus is out! github.com/ShearOfDoom/Cactus/releases/tag/v0.1.0-alpha
from sys import exit
from CactusSource.map_position import MapPosition
from CactusSource.game_map import GameMap
from CactusSource.main_game import MainGame

GAME_MAP = GameMap([
	MapPosition(
		"Start",
		"Welcome to the start!",
		"Now leaving the start.",
		{
			"left": 1,
			"right": 2,
		},
	),
	MapPosition(
		"Left",
		"You took the left path and died.",
		"",
		{},
		function=exit,
	),
	MapPosition(
		"Right",
		"You took the right path and lived!",
		"",
		{},
		function=exit,
	),
])

@QPaysTaxes Similar example to my prototype, but with a few improvements.
@Quill ^^
@EthanBierlein Nice! I'm particularly glad you added leaving the area text input. I was going to suggest it, but you've got it :-)
Well, I have @QPaysTaxes to thank for that little idea, and after all, this is a pre-release, so there are many features to come! :)
Have you made enough modifications to make another CR post?
I've made some modifications, and re-written it for Python3, but atm, I don't think that enough has really been changed yet.
I'll probably put it up for review a version release or two from now.
That's the traffic so far ^^
Which is quite a bit, and I'm glad for that too.
I'm probably gonna get to work on the wiki tomorrow.
room topic changed to Discussion about Cactus: General discussion about Cactus (github.com/ShearOfDoom/TextEngine); specs: (docs.google.com/document/d/…) [community-project] [fun] [fun] [game] [no-its-an-engine]
03:00
why are there two fun tags?
Double the fun?
Yes. Exactly. I've added as well because it seems that this project has enough activity already. Sorta like Rubberduck VBA
I feel like this is a very odd community project. There's 3 people with their own prototypes, and then the official project. It works though! :)
ANNOUNCEMENT: Rename the Source folder to CactusSource. Turns out Source is already a Python3 library.
