Basically, the only reasons to protect a question are: if there are more deleted answers than non-deleted answers, or it's had multiple spam answers in a short amount of time

And, for the second one, it can be unprotected after the activity on the question has died down

Y'know, I think I've realized why my taste in programming languages is so cursed. It's because my first experiences in programming were TI-BASIC and Google Apps Script. It's like wondering why your child doesn't enjoy an expensive steak, when you raised them eating nothing but hardtack and carrot cake.
