Chris Jester-Young has been automatically appointed as owner of this room.

@Feeds O_o
@Chris: Feeds?
@Joey Yep, it's a special user that sends notifications, AFAIK.
@Joey I was O_o'ing because I was trying to figure out how it decided whom to appoint as room owner.

@ChrisJesterYoung here's your answer:

A: Chat clean up & owner rules

balphaSure. In most cases, the room owner is more or less arbitrary, because it's just the person who was first to create the (e.g.) PHP room. But of course it makes sense to have several owners, especially for rooms that are quite active and have developed their own "style", and have those owners be p...

of course given that you're a mod, it doesn't make an actual difference in this case
@balpha Ahh, thanks for that.

A: Guess the number.

Joe ZitzelbergerJava, 1927 chars: import java.io.*; import java.util.*; import java.util.regex.*; public class GuessGame{int L=1;int H=100;int G=5;int N;String HS = "higher";String LS = "lower"; String CS = "correct";public static void main(String[] args) {if (args.length==2)new GuessGame(Integer.parseInt(args...

that's an ... interesting ... attempt at golfing
@Joey Yeah, it's not as golfed as it could be.
@Chris: It doesn't even compile in its »golfed« form
Hahahahahaha.
breaking lines in the middle of a string ...
Hehehehehe.

apart from that, it's a very bad attempt as it is. There's still loads of unnecessary whitespace in it.
That, and variable names are more than single chars.
yep
(Java allows BMP Unicode identifiers. You can easily have >50,000 one-char identifiers.)
Trying to golf it down, right now
19:25
at least the obvious things
*nods* I'm totally not above using obscure Unicode characters to make single-character identifiers. :-P
I probably won't change the general approach even though I think that for golfing using anything other than a single class with only static members is unnecessary :)
Pretty much. :-P
@Chris: I once used them in a project here ;)
I think they're gone by now, though

@Chris: Got it down to 1360 from the initial 1953 :-)
Long list of improvements in the comments ;)

Q: Shorten this code while fixing a major bug

cbrulakI found the code below today after much hair pulling. Shorten it down (code golf) and fix the bug that found (bonus) #define LN_SOME_TEXT_FIELD 256 void GetSomeText(LPTSTR text) { TCHAR buf[LN_SOME_TEXT_FIELD + 1]; short i; LPTSTR curChar; curChar = text; ...

The questions get weirder

steenslagPiet (0 chars) Not mine, but for the sheer beauty of it: Source: http://www.retas.de/thomas/computer/programs/useless/piet/explain.html

First Piet solution. But taken from someone else :|
