@JoKing Ah, so that's why it doesn't show up in the site rooms list ;P
\o/ I have exactly 33333 rep :P
23:27
nice :o
@cairdcoinheringaahing i'll do that as soon as i figure out how i'd even do it in a non-golfing language ;-;
Mornin'

Well then we've covered all time zones
Very good

A: Sandbox for Proposed Challenges

knosmosMay the Winds be in Your Favor Scenario You are Odysseus, and are finally free from Calypso (who has kept you captive for many years) after you drugged her while she was sleeping1. You wish to return to your homeland of Ithaca, but the ship you've stolen is a bit damaged and cannot steer. However...

We have not had "afternoon"
@Lyxal We don't have afternoon, but since the distinction between that and evening is unclear, I'm going to say "good afternoon"
well, unless you count earlier today when user said afternoon but it's now evening for us
granted, the definitions of times of day by "morning", "evening", etc aren't very precise
Afternoon ends somewhere around 7 PM IMO
Wait, what timezone are you in @user?
23:38
EST
EST
@hyper-neutrino Seriously?
ninja'd <o/ (UTC-4)
@RedwolfPrograms IMO it ends when it gets too cold to site outside (which is currently 6pm here)
I'm okay with you ninja'ing me when I was about to say "afternoon," but ninja'ing an answer to a question that was asked of me specifically? >(
Imagine being somewhere where it ever gets cold in spring
23:39
it was snowing the other day, like earlier this week
It hasn't snowed here in a few weeks
@RedwolfPrograms According to the Netware login script processor, Afternoon is 12-6
@RedwolfPrograms Isn't it cold at night
Not here lol
23:39
(12-18 in 24 hr clock)
a few weeks ago i was wearing shorts outside
but it snowed earlier this week
Although it was a bit cool here a few days ago, but during the day as well
I kinda want to move to Florida or someplace
Move to the Austin area, I want the house prices to keep going up :p
It got to like 33 degrees fahrenheit a couples days ago ove rhere
23:40
@hyper-neutrino The last time we got snow, it snowed around 11am and I had a barbeque later that evening
@cairdcoinheringaahing xD wow nice
You love to see it :P
@RedwolfPrograms By the time I'm out of college, I'll be waist-deep in debt, so no thanks
The trick is to not go to college cries in rejected from every uni I've applied to
And before I go to college, I won't have any money, so :(
23:41
We've definitely had days where it's like 2 degrees in the morning and 25+ in the afternoon
@cairdcoinheringaahing Hey, you miss make 100% of the shots you don't take :P
@hyper-neutrino My grandad lives in BC and sent us a video of him enjoying a beer outside in shorts with a foot or so of snow around him from earlier that day O.o
Canadians are crazy capable with cold :P
I wore shorts outside when it was snowing here, which made a lot of people look at me funny :p
The trick is to not feel cold
23:44
@cairdcoinheringaahing My grandad lives in AD
it's not that uncommon for the temperature outside to be low enough such that you get frostbite after 30 seconds of exposure
@user We're all part of the hivemind, so all our grandads live in BC
@user The secret: everyone's grandad lives in BC :P
Fricking ninja'd
> When you feel like you're dying, don't.
at least, it's considered just bad weather, not like an emergency or smth. obviously extreme weather conditions but it's just canada things :p
23:45
How did I get ninja'd with that???
hivemind
@user I hate Freudian slips
you were lagging, so you didn't receive the hivemind signal from redwolf that they were gonna send the message first
Imagine living somewhere where snow doesn't result in mass panic and no water or power for a week
the range in how the temperature feels like is approximately -40 to 40 here, though it's quite rare for it to actually be that cold or that hot
23:46
-40 celsius or fahrenheit? :P
@RedwolfPrograms Our trains have failed because a day was too sunny once
@user kelvin
I mean I'd believe it :p
@hyper-neutrino Uh
Wait no
Negative kelvin lol
23:47
lol
If Canadians can defy the laws of physics, Canada's definitely imaginary
"It gets to -100 degrees here". "Celsius or Fahrenheit?" "First one, then the other"
when you die in canada your simulation ends and you become american
@user I was joking about them being the same thing, but kelvin is a whole 'nother thing
in my four years of high school, i can remember at least three (and i think there's a fourth) cases of people fainting, usually in the stairwells, and in my fourth year covid put us out of school early so people weren't in the building during the summer anymore
23:48
@RedwolfPrograms And, we once had train delays due to "the wrong kind of sunlight"
Note to self: Do not live in Canada. Do not be deceived by the maple syrup.
once that happened and then i ended up getting home late because the ambulance that came backed into my school bus and we had to wait for another bus to pick us up
@hyper-neutrino Imagine taking the bus to school, when you can instead walk for half an hour :P
i usually bike once the weather's good enough :P since i moved in the summer after grade 10, i wasn't in my school's bussing zone anymore so i had to travel myself
but this happened when i had a school bus and walking back would've taken about an hour
we also got stuck at a train track for 15 minutes once because they were constructing / setting up the new transit system and decided to test if the barriers worked by activating them for 15 minutes during a semi-rush hour
Imagine going to school
This post made by stuck at home during covid gang

Have y'all seen the roasting of the OP here? Some of the comments are harsh:
I rode my bike to/from middle school. There would always be cars parked in the bike lane along one stretch of road. A bunch of people complained, so you wanna know what they did? They added a third lane to the road for the cars to park, then put the bikelane between the two...so you'd have parked cars to the right, a very thin bike lane, then moving cars to the lef
in Discussion on question by LoneAcademic: Should I mention myself as a tutor on chegg in my CV?, 21 hours ago, by knzhou
If you work on Chegg's "advanced physics", you've possibly helped people cheat on exams I've written! I recommend you don't admit to doing any such thing. In terms of the damage you've done, you're worse than an actual cheater.
@RedwolfPrograms How did the cars in the first lane get out? Did they turn sideways and use the bike lane? :P
@RedwolfPrograms a lot of our roads that were recently reconstructed did that
it's brilliant design! you're just minding your own business biking and someone doesn't see you, opens their driver-side door, and bam you're dead! :D
There was a video of some second grade kid on their bike trying to stay in the bike lane then falling over, luckily onto the side with the parked cars
23:58
Since spending more time driving, I've developed a strong dislike of cyclists :/
Cyclists on the roads has always felt like the most dangerous way to allow people to cycle to me
I wouldn't say I dislike people on bikes and motorbikes, but they certainly look a lot more sus once you start driving
Pedestrians, particularly children, always stress me out
i hate biking on the road and i hate having cyclists on the road when i'm driving. i just wish we had better bike lanes than literally just a section of the road separated by drawing a line on the ground
Whenever I cycled, I hated cars overtaking me (or worse, sticking behind me and not overtaking me), but on sidewalks, it was generally ok to cycle (except for crowds of pedestrians)
