4:00 PM
I think my bot is so efficient that it inflates prices to the point where bots hit infinity balance within 40 rounds
without my bot in there, prices are still absurdly inflated, but don't hit inf

hm, I'm not sure if that will disqualify your bot

well even without running my bot
this is with 1 lone trader, 3 chips, 1 monkeys and 1 passive
the final stock price is 3064495658889783590751541146101891843990147911009785527535034246173431862604134‌474783897522448359758656658966378674824633399232001085272541643437812963733147255‌894941865399896594323351561221393519135099663935522486227764047808690621405357314‌28

why are you including 3 chimps?

why not?

are you doing it for testing purposes?
like, putting the chimps in so that you've got more players?

4:04 PM
yeah
the chimps all did really well
the worst of the 3 chimps had a 270 digit balance, while the best had a 295 digit balance
next best was your lone accountant with.. interestingly enough, the exact same balance as my passive trader
Both ended with exactly 1.4908771380498743e+244

um, how are you sure that's "exact same"?
you can't see the whole number

you know what I mean

I'm quite surprised by that result, I thought that my bot would get beaten down by random bots (they don't know what is good for them)

the truly random bot, monkeys, did awefully

4:09 PM
yeah me too

probabl,y because it ended up skipping a lot of rounds by returning invalid responses
which is kind of the point

and going bankrupt too

oh yeah good point

so, in my case, my bot came in third
(one of each bot)

in my case, your bot came 4th, behind the 3 chimps, and tied with the passive
I'll run it again with only 1 chimp
with only 1 chimp, yours came 2nd, ahead of Passive trader
but chimps was still waaay ahead

4:13 PM
CMP: grep, ack, rg, or ag (or something else)?

lone had a 154 digit balance, chimps had a 306 digit balance

@AdmBorkBork Holy scheisse

I feel like the chimps have gotten extremely lucky

Sorry if I've forgotten something else that is important.
Oh yeah, Windows Phone, but who finds that best anyway? ;P

1) Windows Phones are great 2) Why do you have Google Nexus and not just Google?
Also Windows Phones are covered by Nokia

4:25 PM
which is acquired by Microsoft IIRC

Yep

1) Eugh 2) Becuase I'm strictly talking about phones 3) Right

@Mr.Xcoder Right. I have a phone by google. It is not a nexus.

e.g. Google Pixel

Yes

4:27 PM
Just tick the Nexus mark then
Forgot 'bout Pixel

hm, was it you who voted for Apple?

Who else could it have been? :P I wanna participate in the poll too

@Mr.Xcoder OnePlus

@Mr.Xcoder In my life, I have owned 3 phones. A dumb phone, a really old Samsung, and a Pixel. I really like my pixel, but I feel like I don't really have a worthwhile opinion since I have no clue how any of the others are

@Dennis TBH I have never heard of that >_<
@DJMcMayhem I see. I have also owned 3 phones: Nokia, Samsung and Apple in this order. Intermittently have used BlackBerry, Huawei and HTC too, though

4:31 PM
note: I have a Xiaomi but voted for Huawei

@Mr.Xcoder Sony?
I've yet to find an android I liked more than the Sony Xperia

I must revise that poll.

I hope I never have a Huawey phone

This time I included Xiaomi :P

but my vote was always for Huawei

4:42 PM
>_> Did I just type it with y in the second poll? /look_of_disapproval

4 mins ago, by Erik the Outgolfer
I hope I never have a Huawey phone
not in the mood for counterfeit

Someone else voted for Apple. Wonder who it might be :p

I wonder what else they are wrong about. :P

> it

sure, who knows if it's a human?

4:51 PM
For some reason in the expression "who is it" and related forms "it" is perfectly acceptable.

Okx
5:04 PM
@Mr.Xcoder you should allow multiple options

It'd be nice if there was some actual system for KOTH submissions

6:29 PM
@Okx What kind of system?

Okx
A way to make submissions and they get automatically added to the KOTH and given a score

I see. It could be done if the controller was hosted online

Wasn't someone (Nathan?) working on a meta controller?

It was done in this one:

Q: Capture The Flag

soktinpkThis is a game of capture the flag, heavily inspired and based off of Red vs. Blue - Pixel Team Battlebots. That was an awesome question (thank you very much Calvin'sHobbies; I hope you don't mind that I shamelessly stole a lot of code from you) -- here's another team based king-of-the-hill. Hope...

anyone know any cython?

7:03 PM
Quartata does

yeah?

"anyone know any ...?" => "Quartata does"

No I know
That was a prompt to ask the question
the fact that i have to explain this, proves that the english language is a Failure and a Sham. might as well pack it up linguists

@quartata: Ever considered switching to Lojban?

pleased to announce that i am now officially deprecating the English Language on my feed. we encourage anyone using English to switch to Klingon for improved efficiency and information content
however, I posted this out of pressure from the Imperialists
i do not actually endorse the "Time Slower" language

7:12 PM
Lol, idk anything about Klingon but I just assume it's worse than English

its nothing wrong with the language really
its very.... focused

"Its vocabulary, heavily centered on Star Trek-Klingon concepts such as spacecraft or warfare, can sometimes make it cumbersome for everyday use.[citation needed]"
Guess you won't be talking about Cython in Klingon..
@quartata Apparently (^), yeah
Though I'm not sure if they'd count talking about Cython as everyday use..

@quartata tbh I was just hoping to attract stars

7:32 PM
@OMᗺ mu'mey ghaj 'e' "ghun" "De'wI'" je Hech

@Pavel rule #1: never post in context

@quartata say what?

6 mins ago, by quartata
(It has words that mean "computer" and "program")

Oh lol, actually one should be able to tell by the "s
Do you actually know it or did you use some translator/looked it up?

no I know a little, used to know more
although I did need a dictionary for computer and program

Guess, usually you'd be talking about spacecrafts and warfare then
@quartata: What's var'aq?

7:45 PM
CMC: Swap every 2 words in a string only containing spaces and letters. Example: Puzzles Programming Golf Code => Programming Puzzles Code Golf; Want some more milk boy => some Want milk more boy

What if there are an odd number of words?

Jelly, 6 bytes: Ḳs2UẎK

@OMᗺ apparently Klingon Forth. never seen it before
pretty funny though

@DJMcMayhem Leave the ending word unchanged.

(The actual word doesn't mean anything but it fits the phonology)

7:48 PM
@quartata That was my question ^^

The CMC is actually extremely useful to me because my friends and I only talk this way (with every other word swapped)

Just thought there must be an esolang for it, so I had to look it up

var'aQ is hard to use
The interpreter's buggy and the docs are lacking

Also Forth

@Mr.Xcoder sounds That to hard do

7:50 PM
not It's you once used get it to

Weird, I read that perfectly without realising it was swapped

it's maybe pig-latin like. At confusing but first you then used get it to
@EriktheOutgolfer Strangely difficult

Oh wait, I forgot. I have the perfect plugin installed

7:53 PM
@DJMcMayhem asked I it's because easy usually "leave to last the unchanged" word

@Mr.Xcoder òcxiwW.f l
@EriktheOutgolfer my with approach original, actually it work didn't there when an was number even words of, it but fine worked odd with.

an that's oxymoron...

Sorry

hours 6 later...

guys
no pls
talk normal

7:58 PM
points bonus anyone to can who it do brain in flak.

(or at least somewhat normal)

@Pavel k, sorry

Q: Roman Army Shields

Luis felipe De jesus MunozSandbox post (deleted) The old roman army formations are very famous around the world. In these formations roman legionaries grouped in a geometric shape (usually a rectangle) protecting the flanks and the superior part of it using their shields. The legionaries at interior positions covered the...

@Pavel don't I it get, you did "normal talk" mean?
@DJMcMayhem Imagine I very it's hard.

Yeah, it would be very very hard.

8:02 PM
@Mr.Xcoder feel I this like work: should 6 Husk, wṁ↔C2w bytes:

Wheat Wizard could probably do it

Husk Somehow uwshow chooses of instead :S unwords
Can someone unfreeze Husk's chatroom?

Link?

in Husk, 29 secs ago, by DJMcMayhem
You there it's. Go frozen un now

8:07 PM
@DJMcMayhem Thanks a lot!

8:33 PM
I hate that twitter shows what people have liked on my timeline
It's making my feed relentlessly political when I'm not interested in that stuff

8:49 PM
I want tweets by people I follow sorted from most to least recent and nothing else

no

I've just installed a new twitter client
Chronological order is so sweet

My twitter is basically news + quartata

Basically astrophysics and mountaineering for me

twitter is supposed to bring us Together. and Together. and Together. and Together. and Together. until there is nothing left.

8:51 PM
i think black holes do that

well yeah

ngn
9:02 PM
@Mr.Xcoder oK: " "/,/|:'0N 2#" "\

9:12 PM
@Mr.Xcoder perl -p, 21 bytes: s/(\S+) (\S+)/\2 \1/g

alias sed='perl -pe'

psed

@flawr thanks for store suggestion was cool place :D

@quartata Is that literally just sed but with not horrible regex

theres also s2p

9:22 PM
@quartata How do I install this magical command?

@Mr.Xcoder @wastl save 4 bytes with QuadR, 17 bytes (\S+) (\S+) \2 \1

it come with perl

@quartata not on TIO it doesn't
Or on my local system
(Where my local system is Strawberry Perl)

oh well
oh I guess the newer distributions don't include them anymore :(
a2p and s2p used to always be there
its on CPAN as App::s2p
