@HelkaHomba Particularly since firearms have to be precision manufactured in order to work properly.
rest 75 could not be fit int he url.. otherwise it would be too long
haha
@AlexA. Not too precise.
And you don't really have to be that skilled.
actually, printable guns is a huge issue for tracking
The same holds for other self made guns.
22:01
(or making your own gun, for that matter)
A defect in the barrel could make the thing explode in your hand, couldn't it?
goodnight
you are Dutch, correct?
22:04
yes
@AlexA. Just make it strong enough.
You can actually (at least in the US) legally buy gun parts
Without serial numbers
Where one cruical part (which usually has a serial number) comes stilla s "raw good" (untracked)
Where you basically just have to drill a single hole and you have a full gun.
Let me find some sources.
Or just watch the video
Just to disclaim: I do not own a gun and probably never will
All those tools sound as expensive as a 3d printer
@HelkaHomba Oh is it not the video where he also shows the "almost finished" receiver you can legally buy?
What is a good name for a blogging/information website?
My original point was: Many things that people use 3d printers for can quite easily be done (most of the time in an even better quality) than with a 3d printer.
Also consider that it takes quite some time and tinkering to get a 3d printer set up and running.
Of course I have nothing against 3d printers and I know that most people use a 3d printer just for the sake of it, I'd probably enjoy building /tinkering with one/ too.
What do you consider "public use"?
In my opinion guns should all be made from chocolate.
Some random person can own a gun <-- public use
Again a link abou "how to make an untracable ar 15" reddit.com/r/DIY/comments/414tza/…
An improvised firearm is a firearm manufactured other than by a firearms manufacturer or a gunsmith, and is typically constructed by adapting existing materials to the purpose. They range in quality from crude weapons that are as much a danger to the user as the target, to high-quality arms produced by cottage industries using salvaged and repurposed materials. Improvised firearms are commonly used as tools by criminals and insurgents and are often associated with such groups; other uses include self-defense in lawless areas and hunting game in poor rural areas. == ConstructionEdit == Th...
@AlexA. something else: They should be replaced with nerf baseball bats.

In my opinion guns should all be made from chocolate.
@AlexA. I don't really understand the difference between 1 and 4.
I own a 12-gauge pump-action shotgun FWIW.
22:33
I do own a untraceable rubber band gun.
^
@Dennis is it edible?
lol
@EᴀsᴛᴇʀʟʏIʀᴋ Most definitely not.
@Dennis then what good is it? :P
@EᴀsᴛᴇʀʟʏIʀᴋ It is a allusion to /r/gonewild which is nsfw
@flawr ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
22:35
@CᴏɴᴏʀO'Bʀɪᴇɴ Health insurance.
Dangerous neighbourhood?
@Dennis then what good is it?
@flawr yeah, I know.
@CᴏɴᴏʀO'Bʀɪᴇɴ wtf
I didn't read your message.
O_O GET OUT OF MY HEAD
:P
22:37
BAI for LUNCH
BAI
oh, I did see a drinkbai ad today
Challenge idea: given a user id for a PPCG account, determine which site they have the most rep on
@flawr All neighborhoods in this country are dangerous. Although since the shooting practice with my 12-gauge in the front yard, nobody has dared to bother me.
@Dennis What country?
22:41
Paraguay
@CᴏɴᴏʀO'Bʀɪᴇɴ that's an API thing... Solutions would be long, me think.
Might work better as not a golf challenge, if you can come up with something good for a popcon.
famous last words
Did somebody say "good for a popcon"?
22:49
Also good for popcorn if you get it wrong.
Win-win.
@CᴏɴᴏʀO'Bʀɪᴇɴ answer: PPCG. if not correct, user is invalid
Recommended procedure: Change user's name to small caps, then clear all rep on other sites.
(╯°□°)╯︵ sdɐɔ llɐɯs
You guys are impossible to find with the search tools.
22:53
sorry
@CᴏɴᴏʀO'Bʀɪᴇɴ made me addicted.
@Dennis .......... .(╯°□°)╯sdɐɔ llɐɯs ︵
small caps ノ( º _ ºノ)
hm
my small caps keyboard layout doesn't show up in the list of layouts........
I NEED THEM
brb fixing
I'm trying to work more on my game's crafting system, but I'm trying to figure out the best way to organize everything.
avocad majik?
and idk other than that
@PhiNotPi describe what you have
So, the core object is a Tag, which can contain a string (its name) with an option extra number (as data).
If I wanted to make a wooden log, I would create an object with [wood][log]
But, tags themselves are arranged into an inheritance tree. [oak] is a type of [wood] which is a type of [material]
So an [oak][log] qualifies as a [wood][log] but not vice-versa.
But, tags like [wood] also require a lot of additional data, like density, combustion temperature, etc.
23:02
hm
So what is your problem then?
So you need a way to test it?
just create a class material and extend it with wood or something
Isn't that JAVA syntax?
So, I want to somehow come up with a method where [density:7][oak][log] is a valid object, but that I can associate tags with other tags, so that I can leave out the [density] tag.
it's general oop
So that an [oak][log] has a density 7, but a [oak][log][density:12] has a density of 12.
23:05
@PhiNotPi make it a optional parameter?
def wood(density=7):
    juicAvocad()
or something of the sort
@CᴏɴᴏʀO'Bʀɪᴇɴ the extends is JAVA.
@EᴀsᴛᴇʀʟʏIʀᴋ it's also fishbone
But, I'm not going to make any specialized code for these tags, I want a way to create the data structure on the fly.
@CᴏɴᴏʀO'Bʀɪᴇɴ ?
So that I can read in a text file containing all the tags, what they inherit from, what default values they have/need, and then create a tagging system.
23:08
@EᴀsᴛᴇʀʟʏIʀᴋ google it, fishbone,js
@PhiNotPi does oak have a density of 12, or does a log have a density of 12?
or only the combination of the two?
which language?
This entire thing ([oak][log][density:12]) represents a single in-game entity with density 12.
I'm using java.
here's the problem from the system so far, is that tagging doesn't work with ordered
23:15
@PhiNotPi >.<
@Downgoat made some changes to the Cheddar website, check them out?
aka, you mentioned that [oak][log] is valid, but [log][oak] isn't
@NathanMerrill I don't think that's what I said.
I'm representing them as Sets, they are unordered.
@PhiNotPi then what does this mean?
ok, then here's my proposed solution
every tag is key-value
23:18
[oak] is a type of [wood], but [wood] itsn't always [oak]. So, an entity [oak][log] qualifies as a [wood][log]
[material:oak][shape:log]
and there are a fixed set of possible keys
such as material, shape, density, combustion
if a particular object is missing a key
then starting with the left most tag, look up the inheritance tree to find it
so, if I defined [material:oak][density:3] and [shape:log][density:7], then [material:oak][shape:log] would have a density of 7
unless you explicitly defined a different density
@PhiNotPi does this help?
Yeah, I'm probably going to restructure some stuff to be more similar to that.

@CᴏɴᴏʀO'Bʀɪᴇɴ literally LOL
@Phrancis hah yep
who?
XD
Would guys go to Mars for a few years of your life if you had the chance? Say it's 2050 and a normal occurrence, but it still has risks equivalent with living in a present day underwater habitat.
Hmm sure, but latency might be high ;P
I'd do it, or I'd like to think I would. Though cost would probly be the real limiting factor
haha that's great
