C# everyone, good night.
@Dennis FAP for life!
21:19
alex.say(what="Goodnight!", to="@Optimizer");
Is it possible to do a hidden reply?
Did that ping you, Dennis?
Can you use the message ID anywhere? :23602582
It appears not.
21:36
[:23602582]()
Doesn't work :(
I think your link construct is backwards.
It didn't, but it should have.
Ping is broken for me lately.
@Dennis Ping
That pinged.
Oh, okay
21:38
I just created my first esolang. For the next Hello World competition, I'm covered. :P
Hahaha. This is excellent.
@Dennis You implemented it in CJam?
It may be the first programming language implemented in a golfing language.

You should've gone for "C: interpret the rest of the program as a CJam program."
I was going to, but I wanted it to barely count as a programming language. :P
21:46
Yeah, maybe it's more in-your-face like this!
You're such a cheater. ^^
@Mauris ?
(See, in gs2 the program f prints all of FizzBuzz, because I, too, love messing with code golf contests.)
Was it Dennis' submission or something?
Nah, I was jokingly calling out Dennis on cheating (re: his language) while mine does something equally silly.
Oh, gs2 is yours?
21:51
Yeah.
Cool.

Q: Zig-zag strings

kvillZig-zag strings Given a string and a positive integer, output the string in a zig-zag wave pattern with a peak amplitude and character spacing equal to the integer. Input Input can be read from STDIN or taken as function arguments. Input is a string without newlines and a positive integer. Ou...

@Mauris Did you change your username? IIRC, it was different when you wrote this answer.
It was "nooodl" once, yeah.
Heck, if you had not changed it, I would have cracked your answer.
22:15
@PeterTaylor Oh, okay.
For the zig-zag challenge on main, I'd probably call it a duplicate of the challenge Martin mentioned was closely related. I don't think it really adds anything beyond that. Thoughts?
it takes away
I thought you went to bed. ;)
Isn't it like 4am there?
not yet
and stop spilling it out will ya?
Spilling what out?
22:30
my personal information :P
Oh sorry! I can't delete that anymore. :|
Is it just me, or is wchar_t in C++ just garbage?
Is it just me or are you actually writing code in C++?
I'm working on it :P
22:55
sigh I'm tired of summer... I just want it to get cold and snowy now :/
Blasphemy.
Not if you're a snowboarder ;)
I'm not, so I can claim it's blasphemy. :P
I mean it's not blasphemous for me :P
what if its so cold that the snow freezes?
23:01
You'd have hypersnow.
I still like ice :D
@AlexA. Seattle isn't as humid as it is here... I can't bear it much longer :P
Seattle was a tad humid last week. It's been pleasantly warm the past few days.
Sounds nice :)
It is! Seattle has a reputation of being all rain all the time, but that's really not true. We have great summers. (And then it rains the rest of the time.)
@Dennis You know, before we brought in Foo I had a few other insta-print languages on my list
I only just found an interpreter for one of them
23:35
@Sp3000 now that you've cracked MarioLANG I could finally sandbox another challenge :D
What's that got to do with anything? :P
it would have (might have) given away the solution
... oh

A: Sandbox for Proposed Challenges

Martin BüttnerConvert Brainfuck to MarioLANG code-golf code-generation MarioLANG is a two-dimensional programming language where the source code resembles a Super Mario Bros. level. Furthermore, its instruction set is very similar to Brainfuck's. This means that MarioLANG is essentially a 2-D Brainfuck where...

23:55
@Sp3000 Three incarnations of the same idea and each worked in another language... :(
I'm not sure why it works either - I kind of expected Tiny to need line numbers from the wiki
@Dennis I have problems understanding the definition of comments in your new programming language. If (space) starts a comment, and the next non-space character ends it, does this mean that comments can only be spaces? Because, as soon as you put anything else in a comment, it's by definition the end of the comment?
Yes, but characters that do not correspond to commands are no-ops.
It's a joke, really.
@Sp3000 I'm guessing the dot aborts execution since it's a syntax error in that part of the program.
