You can also do int a=104;int b=103 in Brainchild which sort of achieves the listed goal, but breaks as soon as you add any other code

You're very welcome! I'm still learning the ropes, but a few thoughts off the top of my head:
- It's really hard to compare the tacit models since they're so different, but the "shortest possible" function parsing trick is really cool, and it's worth pointing out why that's fundamentally impossible in Jelly. Bending the data flow around each operation's adicity is basically THE defining principle of Jelly's tacit model (and quite explicitly what's meant to set it apart from traditional APL-style tacit), so explicit grouping is everywhere, but it gives you implicit combinators in exchange.
