@user in Firefox 11 or earlier, using uneval on that array would result in #1= [, #1#]

@cairdcoinheringaahing O in terms of what?
Although depends on the implementation it might be O(k^nk) or O(k^nk*sum integer size) too...

@user Stackoverflow in stack overflow language

Oh no
I just found a bug that's not going to be fun to fix
n % 0.1 should always be 0 for an integer, but because I'm using floating point it's sometimes 0.099999999999
Okay good I fixed it by not using modulo

4:08 AM
Oh i forgot how special java is
All the different capitalisations and class modifiers just to get HW working

4:28 AM
Really don't understand why JS is designed to (-1)%5=-1, not 4.

4:45 AM
@SketchySketch JS uses the same rules for modulo as Java and C (on most machines), so it doesn't seem to have invented the trend of bad modulo

@Lyxal Most Hava programs are not that trivial, so you don’t really notice it, especially with aul the other boilerplate it has

5:59 AM
@RedwolfPrograms Yes I know that, but not friendly for some golfing challenges : )

Any time a challenge has something like "Surprisingly, no challenge like this exists" or "This is such a simple challenge its amazing it doesn't already exist" or similar, there's usually a reason for that ಠ_ಠ

@cairdcoinheringaahing :(

@Razetime Barring a few exceptions, which have generally been posted by 100k+ users, if you have to ask yourself "Why isn't this already a challenge?", it's probably because it's already been a challenge, but it's never specified clearly enough, or it's just a slight variation on another challenge, or it's just a bad question

well, new people are new people

when's the last time a new user's first challenge was any good?

Which is why we have the Sandbox. Not that it does any good if a new user decides to ignore it despite repeatedly having their challenges closed and people saying "You know, you should really check out the Sandbox"
@pxeger Fairly regularly

5:15 PM
I feel like I check /questions?tab=Newest about twice a day and less than 1/4 are worth upvoting

A lot of the time, new users post a poor quality challenge with potential and experienced users help them fix it up, because the only reason it was low quality is because they lacked the experience
@Razetime Thanks for the bounty! :)
@pxeger Speak of the devil :/

lol

@pxeger This one I think is the most recent posted by a "new user" (Sketch's first question was migrated over to meta)

I have issued a bounty for zsh answers! codegolf.meta.stackexchange.com/a/20789

@pxeger Just an FYI, it's a little slow rn, but we have a feed to post new deadlineless bounties into the room :)

It's funny; the 2 answers I'm most proud of in the past couple of weeks have both been brutally inefficient (O((n^2)}!) and O(9^{n^2})) :P

Q: Elias omega coding: decoding

BubblerRelated: Elias omega coding: encoding Background Elias omega coding is a universal code which can encode positive integers of any size into a stream of bits.
