AZTECCOCheck if two blocks of bits dovetail perfectly. Specifications A block of bits is a fixed sequence of 8 bits just like this for example : 11110101. A: Sandbox for Proposed Challenges

Don ThousandFinding the densest crossword puzzles I love crosswords, and nothing beats a super densely packed puzzle. But how dense can the puzzles get? Here's a sample puzzle I made a few years ago: Certainly not great, but can we do better? Given any list of characters, a crosswordification of that list i...

Q: 3Sum Why this O(nlogn) solution doesn't work?

FransebasHi I'm doing LeetCode and I struct this problem of the 3Sum and first I tried to do a O(nlogn) solution and after seeing the proposed solution I see that the solution is O(n^2) or O(n^2 * logn) and not only that but the problem is a highly researched topic so I don't think I found a better soluti...

Thoughts on the new wording of this challenge?

@Neil What does ".." give?
@Neil Can we assume wellformed English, i.e single spaces between words, no leading or trailing spaces, adherence to punctuation rules? What does "U.S.A." become?

It's fascinating to see which badges have never been earned on the site. Some make sense (e.g. Unsung Hero "Zero score accepted answers: more than 10 and 25% of total"), but a couple of others are much more surprising (e.g. Generalist "Provide non-wiki answers of 15 total score in 20 of top 40 tags")
Full list of badges for reference

not enough tags on that site?

@JohnDvorak I'm talking about PPCG. It's a difficult badge to get, but I'd've thought someone like Dennis or Martin would have enough answers to cover it

Apparently they all require >200 questions.
The generalist badge is only awarded if the top 40 tags have over 200 questions each, which isn't the case here.

10:01 PM
@Adám You can assume that's not valid input
@Adám hmm, I guess you can assume U.S.A. is also invalid input

11:03 PM
Any feedback for this?

seems well defined but very difficult
